Accounting Analyst Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounting analyst in Delaware?
Most accounting analyst roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. While the position itself does not require a state license, employers commonly prefer candidates who are pursuing or have earned CPA licensure through the Delaware Board of Accountancy, which administers the Uniform CPA Examination. Corporate employers in Wilmington's financial services sector and the pharmaceutical corridor along the I-95 corridor frequently prioritize candidates with that credential.
How much do accounting analysts make in Delaware?
Accounting analysts in Delaware earn a median of about $82,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $65,980 for the lowest 10% to over $122,260 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire accounting analysts in Delaware?
Companies currently hiring accounting analysts in Delaware include CSC, FujiFilm, and WuXi AppTec, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms means demand is consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Delaware cities have the most accounting analyst jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and Middletown have the most accounting analyst openings in Delaware. Wilmington dominates because it is home to major bank card operations, corporate legal entities, and financial headquarters, while Newark draws demand from the University of Delaware and nearby pharmaceutical and technology employers, and Dover sees steady openings tied to state government agencies and regional healthcare systems.
Are there remote accounting analyst jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of accounting analyst openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to desk-based and analytical work. Financial reporting, variance analysis, and cost accounting tasks are the functions most commonly offered in fully remote or hybrid arrangements by Delaware-based employers.
How can I get hired as a accounting analyst in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to staff accountant or accounting assistant roles at Delaware's large corporate employers such as JPMorgan Chase, Chemours, or Incyte, which regularly bring on new graduates for rotational finance programs. A bachelor's degree in accounting, active pursuit of CPA candidacy through the Delaware Board of Accountancy, and demonstrated Excel proficiency give early-career candidates a clear edge over general applicants competing for those positions.
Where can I find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to accounting analyst jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in the state. Search the roles that match your background and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit your goals.
