Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst

Active Radiator - Philadelphia, PA - Full-time - On-site

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

About the Opportunity

Active Radiator is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst to support accurate inventory valuation, product costing, and manufacturing cost reporting. Reporting to the CFO, this role partners with Accounting and Operations to analyze production costs, support financial close activities, and provide insights that improve profitability and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do

· Maintain product costing, standard costs, bills of materials, labor rates, and overhead allocations.

· Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, product profitability, cost trends, and operational performance.

· Prepare and reconcile inventory accounts and valuation schedules; support cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate discrepancies.

· Monitor excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.

· Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

· Prepare cost and inventory reports for management and support budgeting and forecasting related to inventory and manufacturing costs.

· Support GAAP compliance, company policies, internal controls, and internal and external audit requests.

· Partner with Operations, Purchasing, and Production; communicate costing and inventory issues and recommend improvements.

· Support ERP and reporting improvements, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

· 3 - 5 years of cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting experience.

· Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and GAAP.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

· Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred; ERP system experience preferred.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Work Environment

· Primarily office-based, with regular interaction with operations personnel.

· Occasional travel to manufacturing or warehouse locations may be required.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and financial information.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, 100% on-site position in Philadelphia, PA. Benefits details will be confirmed before publication.
