Accounts Receivable Assistant Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounts receivable assistant in Pennsylvania?
An associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or business is the most common entry point for accounts receivable assistants in Pennsylvania. The role has no state-issued license or registration requirement. Earning a credential such as the NACM's Credit Business Associate designation strengthens candidacy, and many Pennsylvania employers in healthcare and manufacturing favor candidates with hands-on experience using ERP platforms alongside foundational bookkeeping coursework.
Which companies hire accounts receivable assistants in Pennsylvania?
Companies currently hiring accounts receivable assistants in Pennsylvania include IAB Solutions, Wesco, and Fraser, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large health systems, insurers, and regional manufacturers means steady, year-round demand for accounts receivable roles rather than seasonal spikes.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most accounts receivable assistant jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Middletown have the most accounts receivable assistant openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia leads because of its dense cluster of hospital networks, insurance firms, and corporate headquarters, while Pittsburgh's health system and technology sectors drive strong demand there, and Allentown's growing manufacturing and distribution base adds meaningful volume in the Lehigh Valley.
Are there remote accounts receivable assistant jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, since accounts receivable work is desk-based and relies on software accessible from anywhere. About 44% of accounts receivable assistant openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Pennsylvania employers have adopted flexible billing and collections workflows. Fully remote roles are most common in the collections follow-up and cash application functions.
How can I get hired as a accounts receivable assistant in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for an accounts payable clerk or billing coordinator role at a large Pennsylvania health system or regional manufacturer, where finance departments regularly hire candidates without dedicated AR experience. UPMC and Jefferson Health both run finance associate pipelines that rotate through billing and collections functions. Completing a community college accounting certificate from institutions like Community College of Philadelphia adds concrete credibility, and candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks or basic ERP entry move to the front of the line.
Where can I find and apply to accounts receivable assistant jobs in Pennsylvania?
