Summary
Sinai Hospital is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider to join our Surgical ICU Team. You will act as a primary care coordinator for surgeons, referring physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care throughout their treatment journey.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care for a diverse surgical and critical care population, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including obtaining health histories, conducting physical examinations, and developing care plans.
- Order and manage diagnostic tests, medications, treatments, diets, fluids, and other patient care interventions within scope of practice.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care and collaborate with attending physicians and specialty teams to ensure seamless patient management.
- Perform and assist with invasive and critical care procedures, including line insertions, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and emergency IV access.
- Participate in emergency response activities, including serving as a member of the Code Blue team.
- Educate patients and families, provide emotional support, and facilitate discussions regarding treatment plans and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including progress notes, transfer summaries, and discharge summaries.
- Develop and deliver educational programs and evidence-based resources for patients, families, nursing staff, medical students, and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, infection control, and safety standards while promoting teamwork, process improvement, and organizational mission and values.
Qualifications
- Current Maryland Physician Assistant or CRNP or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certifications: DEA Controlled Substance Registration, Controlled Dangerous Substances License (or eligibility to obtain).
