Employers typically look for a high school diploma at minimum, with a preference for a bachelor's degree in business or marketing. Building one to three years in a frontline sales or lead associate role at a New Hampshire retail chain, dealership, or financial services firm is the most common route to promotion into an assistant manager seat.

Companies currently hiring assistant manager - saless in New Hampshire include Hannaford, Rent-A-Center, and M&T Bank, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's retail corridor along Route 101 and the southern Merrimack Valley corridor generates consistent openings across grocery, home goods, and specialty retail chains.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most assistant manager - sales jobs?
Manchester, Dover, and Milford lead New Hampshire for assistant manager - sales openings. Manchester's density of retail and financial services employers anchors the most volume, Nashua's cross-border shopping district draws heavy commercial retail activity, and Concord's role as the state capital supports both government-adjacent retail and regional service businesses that generate consistent supervisory openings.
