Special education assistant roles often require additional coursework or documented hours working with students with disabilities. Private and early childhood programs may have their own education minimums but generally follow similar standards.

Which Maryland cities have the most assistant teacher jobs?

Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of assistant teacher openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, since most assistant teacher roles require in-person presence to support students directly in the classroom. The small number of remote opportunities tend to involve administrative support, virtual tutoring, or online special education programs.
