Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our in-home daycare team. Hours are approximately 7:30-2:00 (flexible). The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. This role is essential in fostering the development of young learners and ensuring that each child receives the attention and guidance they need to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Support behavior management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Engage with children during playtime, encouraging social interaction and cooperative play.
• Provide individualized support to children with disabilities, including autism, ensuring their needs are met.
• Facilitate math and literacy activities that promote early learning skills.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Skills

• Strong behavior management skills to effectively guide children's actions.
• Experience with Montessori methods or other educational philosophies is preferred.
• Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities, particularly autism, is highly valued.
• Familiarity with preschool curriculum and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to provide toddler care while ensuring their developmental needs are met.
• Experience working with children in various settings, including private schools or daycare facilities.
• Proficiency in basic math concepts to assist children in their learning journey.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
