The Advanced Products and Capabilities team within Advertising Products and Solutions is looking for a Product Manager, Workflow Automation, to help us deeply understand how Ad Sales operates today—and to reimagine how it should operate tomorrow. This role sits at the intersection of business process, automation, and AI, with a mandate to modernize and streamline how our internal teams and external partners transact with our company. This role will work across all business groups to organize, shape, and evangelize the automation work (including AI) taking place across the product organization, with a goal to identify duplication, surface synergies, and drive cross-team collaboration.
The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative product manager who is passionate about media, ad technology, and automation, and who brings strong product execution skills, stakeholder communication abilities, technical fluency, and a willingness to take ownership where needed.
Responsibilities
- Become a deep expert in NBCU’s Ad Sales landscape & processes, understanding end-to-end workflows across all lines of business, systems, and teams, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and manual steps
- Support and execute automation strategies that improve NBCU Ad Sales operations, through system-to-system integrations, workflow automation, and AI-enabled solutions
- Partner closely with Sales, Strategy, Planning, Ad Operations, Insights & Measurement, Product, and Data teams to define requirements and align on thoughtful solutions
- Own and manage a centralized intake process for automation opportunities, tracking requests, dependencies (e.g., system access, cyber approval), and prioritization across teams
- Drive alignment across teams to ensure automated workflows integrate cleanly across the broader ecosystem
- Generate and own cross-functional Automation/AI roadmaps in collaboration with all business groups and identify synergies across teams to increase value return
- Ensure automation improves the business experience by reducing friction in how we transact, communicate, and execute
- Drive visibility into automation initiatives to leadership and the business at large, providing clear updates, progress tracking and visibility into risks, dependencies and impact
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Ad Technology and the application of AI within advertising workflows
- Support change management efforts, including training, documentation, and rollout planning to drive adoption of new automation workflows
- Partner with third-party vendors on workflow development, platform updates, and issue resolution
- Create vendor engagement frameworks to evaluate and onboard new automation and AI solutions
- Track insights and contribute to KPI development to evaluate and optimize existing product capabilities
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in product management within the advertising, streaming, or data-driven media ecosystem, ad tech, or AI space, with exposure to automation-driven solutions
- Experience owning product workflows in cross-functional environments, including defining and delivering system-to-system integrations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and drive alignment across business, product and technical teams
- Impact driven, with a focus on delivering measurable efficiency gains and scaling solutions across teams
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholder teams to deliver advertising or media products
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into product requirements
- Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and own workstreams in ambiguous or fast-moving areas
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, including intake management, prioritization and roadmap tracking
- Comfort working with technical concepts (e.g. APIs, data pipelines, system integrations, metadata systems, agile development practices)
- Proficiency in Excel and JIRA, with knowledge of AI tools to support workflow analysis, documentation, and productivity
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NBCU’s portfolio, streaming products, and advertising capabilities
- Knowledge of digital ad serving, streaming ad tech, and data-targeted advertising mechanics, including pitch to pay workflows
- Experience working with workflow automation platforms, low-code/no-code tools, AI-enabled solutions, or operational tooling within media or ad tech systems
- Exposure to system onboarding, access models (e.g. SSO, APIs) and cyber security approval processes

Automation Project Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a automation project manager in New York?
Most automation project managers in New York enter the role through a combination of an engineering or computer science degree and project management certification, particularly the PMP credential issued by the Project Management Institute. New York does not require a state-issued license specific to this role, but employers in regulated industries such as utilities and life sciences often expect familiarity with OSHA standards and New York Department of Labor workplace safety requirements. Building experience on automation or controls teams before moving into a lead role is the most common path.
How much do automation project managers make in New York?
Automation project managers in New York earn a median of about $121,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,580 for the lowest 10% to over $192,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire automation project managers in New York?
Employers hiring automation project managers in New York right now include EY, CVS Health, and Graham Windham, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of large utilities, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and financial technology firms means demand tends to be consistent year-round rather than tied to seasonal cycles.
Which New York cities have the most automation project manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Brooklyn have the most automation project manager openings in New York. New York City leads because of its density of fintech firms, healthcare networks, and corporate headquarters running enterprise automation programs, while Buffalo and Rochester draw demand from their manufacturing base and the growing presence of semiconductor and clean-energy projects in the Western New York region.
Are there remote automation project manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields because the role often requires on-site oversight of physical systems, equipment commissioning, and vendor coordination. About 71% of automation project manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote roles concentrated in the robotic process automation and enterprise software sides of the discipline rather than in industrial or facilities-based work.
How can I get hired as a automation project manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an automation technician, controls engineer, or IT business analyst role into a project coordinator position at a large New York employer. Companies like Siemens and IBM in New York hire associate project managers and rotational program participants who support senior PMs before taking ownership of projects. Pursuing the Certified Associate in Project Management credential and building a portfolio of small-scale automation initiatives, even from coursework or volunteer work, significantly strengthens early applications in New York's competitive market.
Where can I find and apply to automation project manager jobs in New York?
