Product Specialist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product specialist in New York?
Most product specialist roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a technical discipline relevant to the industry. There is no state-issued license for the general product specialist role, but positions in regulated industries carry additional requirements: medical device roles may require familiarity with FDA compliance, and financial product roles often expect FINRA registrations such as the Series 7 or Series 63, obtained through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Which companies hire product specialists in New York?
Companies currently hiring product specialists in New York include Ramp, LTM Limited, and Bilt Rewards, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's concentration of global financial institutions, pharmaceutical headquarters, and enterprise software firms means steady, year-round demand across industries and seniority levels.
Which New York cities have the most product specialist jobs?
New York, New York State, and Owego have the most product specialist openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its density of financial services firms, tech companies, and pharmaceutical offices, while Albany draws demand from healthcare systems and state-adjacent organizations, and Buffalo's manufacturing and regional banking presence supports consistent openings outside the metro.
Are there remote product specialist jobs in New York?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields. About 67% of product specialist openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and consultative nature of the role. The functions most likely to be fully remote are technical onboarding, software product training, and customer success work that does not require on-site equipment demonstrations.
How can I get hired as a product specialist in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate product specialist or product support role at a mid-size SaaS or financial services company in New York City, where many firms hire candidates with strong communication skills and a relevant degree over direct experience. Large New York employers like Pfizer and Bloomberg run rotational or associate programs that place early-career candidates into product-facing functions. Moving laterally from customer success, technical support, or sales associate roles at the same company is another proven route, and obtaining a FINRA Series 63 or a product management certification strengthens applications considerably.
Where can I find and apply to product specialist jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to product specialist jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across industries and locations throughout the state. Search the roles that match your experience and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
