JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Behavioral Health Strategist (BHS) is a grant funded position under the NH DHHS to coordinate Substance Misuse Prevention, Strategic Planning Prevention and Continuum of Care (CoC) Facilitation. This position collaborates with diverse community stakeholders to increase the Greater Nashua Public Health Region's capacity to provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services within the CoC to increase awareness and prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support services. This is accomplished through the development and implementation of a comprehensive community-wide approach to reducing substance use. The BHS partners with community partners in the GNPHR, to establish and implement a plan, based on the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan to address gaps and build capacity to increase substance use disorder services across the continuum. The incumbent in this position will be cross-trained to ensure consistent and efficient delivery of a broad range of behavioral and public health services in the Greater Nashua Public Health Region. Performs other duties as assigned by the Division Director that support other Public Health initiatives. This is a full-time Unaffiliated position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, but may also include some weekend and night hours. The salary is dependent upon experience.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Organizing or Systems Development or Bachelor's Degree in any of the above with 2-3 years' experience in public health systems development, social work, or community development/organizing will also be considered
- Knowledge of substance misuse, substance abuse, treatment and recovery services
- Knowledge of municipal/state governments and social services
- Must be highly proficient in use of Microsoft Professional Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Windows and Publisher
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must complete Prevention Specialist Certification within one year of hire
- Bi-lingual skills a plus
