Business Development Assistant Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development assistant in Mississippi?
Most Mississippi employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or communications as a baseline. Business development assistant is not a licensed occupation in Mississippi, so no state board exam or registration is required. Candidates who build experience through internships with Mississippi-based firms, complete coursework in sales strategy or CRM tools, and can show measurable results from client-facing projects tend to move through hiring processes faster than those with education alone.
Which companies hire business development assistants in Mississippi?
Mississippi business development assistant roles are posted by CVS Health, FMOL Health, and Pine Belt Honda and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's healthcare, energy, and financial services sectors tend to generate the most consistent demand for this role throughout the year.
Which Mississippi cities have the most business development assistant jobs?
Jackson, Mississippi, and Flowood account for the largest share of business development assistant openings in Mississippi. Jackson leads as the state capital and corporate headquarters hub, while Gulfport's port economy and Gulf Coast tourism industry support steady demand, and Hattiesburg's university presence and growing healthcare sector draw employers who need business development support at the local level.
Are there remote business development assistant jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and they are relatively common given how much of the role involves digital communication, CRM management, and document preparation. About 48% of business development assistant openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader flexibility across desk-based business roles. The tasks most likely to stay remote are lead research, proposal drafting, and pipeline reporting, while in-person attendance is more common when the role involves local client meetings.
How can I get hired as a business development assistant in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an administrative or sales coordinator role at a Mississippi healthcare system, regional bank, or logistics company, then moving laterally once you have demonstrated client interaction and reporting skills. Employers such as Mississippi Baptist Medical Center and Hancock Whitney Bank have historically hired entry-level business support staff and promoted from within. Building proficiency in Salesforce and completing a Google or HubSpot digital marketing certificate gives candidates without direct experience a concrete credential to show hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to business development assistant jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to business development assistant jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current Mississippi openings in one place. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and location preferences, and apply directly to whichever positions fit your situation.
