Field Sales Consultant Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales consultant in Mississippi?
Most Mississippi employers require a bachelor's degree and a valid Mississippi driver's license, since the role involves regular territory travel. No state-issued sales license applies to the general field sales consultant role, though specific sectors add requirements: medical device or pharmaceutical sales candidates benefit from completing a nationally recognized sales training program, and insurance-focused roles require passing the Mississippi Department of Insurance property, casualty, or life exam before soliciting clients.
How much do field sales consultants make in Mississippi?
Field sales consultants in Mississippi earn a median of about $48,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $31,620 for the lowest 10% to over $98,430 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales consultants in Mississippi?
Mississippi field sales consultant roles are posted by Amazon, Advantmed, and Monogram Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's strong presence in healthcare distribution, agricultural supply, and regional banking consistently keeps these and similar employers actively recruiting territory sales professionals.
Which Mississippi cities have the most field sales consultant jobs?
Jackson, Canton, and Gulfport account for the largest share of field sales consultant openings in Mississippi. Jackson drives volume as the state capital and commercial hub, home to major healthcare systems, financial institutions, and distribution operations, while Gulfport and Hattiesburg generate steady demand through Gulf Coast logistics, manufacturing, and the University of Southern Mississippi's regional business ecosystem.
Are there remote field sales consultant jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales consultant work is built around in-person territory visits, client meetings, and relationship management, so fully remote arrangements are uncommon. About 36% of field sales consultant openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically allow remote administrative work while still requiring regular on-site client calls within an assigned Mississippi territory.
How can I get hired as a field sales consultant in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for inside sales representative or sales development roles at Mississippi-based distributors, regional banks such as Regions Bank or BancorpSouth, or healthcare supply companies with Gulf South operations. Many of these employers run structured onboarding programs that move new hires from internal support into field roles after six to twelve months. Completing a Certified Professional Sales Person credential or finishing insurance licensing through the Mississippi Department of Insurance also gives entry-level candidates a measurable edge over unqualified applicants.
Where can I find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current Mississippi openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and preferred territory, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
