Business Development Director Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development director job in Irvine?
Focus your search on Irvine's technology, life sciences, and financial services sectors, where director-level business development roles concentrate in the Irvine Spectrum and Irvine Business Complex. Candidates with a background in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, or B2B revenue growth stand out most here. Familiarity with the Southern California client base and existing relationships in Orange County give you a concrete edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire business development directors in Irvine?
Irvine business development director roles are posted by AMETEK, AbbVie, and Comcast and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Irvine's employer mix skews toward mid-size technology firms, medical device companies, and specialty financial services companies, many of which maintain regional headquarters in the Irvine Spectrum or along the 405 corridor.
Are there remote business development director jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though many roles require in-person client meetings and regional travel, so fully remote positions are less common than in purely desk-based functions. About 67% of business development director openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting a mix of flexible and on-site expectations. Strategic, partner-facing work tied to Irvine's tech and SaaS employers tends to offer the most hybrid flexibility.
How can I get a business development director job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most realistic path into a director-level role in Irvine is moving up through a business development representative or account executive position at one of the city's many technology or life sciences companies, where internal promotion into director roles is common. Irvine's dense concentration of mid-size firms means that lateral moves from sales operations, partnerships, or product marketing roles also open doors. Demonstrating measurable revenue impact and familiarity with the Southern California market accelerates that transition.
