Corporate Sales Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate sales manager in California?
The most direct path is building several years of individual contributor sales experience in a California industry such as technology, healthcare, or financial services, then moving into a team lead or assistant manager role. California does not require a state-issued license for corporate sales managers, but employers in regulated sectors like insurance sales management require a California Department of Insurance license. A bachelor's degree in business or marketing and demonstrated quota achievement are the baseline qualifications most California hiring managers expect.
How much do corporate sales managers make in California?
Corporate sales managers in California earn a median of about $134,910 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,430 for the lowest 10% to over $300,580 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate sales managers in California?
Employers hiring corporate sales managers in California right now include Amazon, Legends Global, and Corporate Traveller, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's density of technology headquarters, large healthcare networks, and enterprise software companies means corporate sales management roles open regularly across multiple industries statewide.
Which California cities have the most corporate sales manager jobs?
San Francisco, Irvine, and Fresno have the most corporate sales manager openings in California. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area concentrate heavily in SaaS and enterprise technology, where companies maintain large corporate sales organizations, while Los Angeles draws from entertainment, media, healthcare, and financial services, and San Diego's life sciences and defense sectors anchor demand in the southern region.
Are there remote corporate sales manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most management fields, because corporate sales organizations increasingly operate across distributed territories. About 0% of corporate sales manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly technology-sector employers have adopted flexible work structures. Strategic and coaching responsibilities travel well remotely, though roles with direct territory ownership often require regular in-person client presence.
How can I get hired as a corporate sales manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales or account executive role at a California technology or healthcare company, then building toward a team lead designation within two to three years. Large California employers like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Kaiser Permanente run structured sales development and associate management programs that feed internal promotions. Moving from a senior individual contributor role into a player-coach position is the most common lateral path, and completing a Salesforce administrator certification or a California community college business management certificate strengthens a candidate's profile when formal management experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to corporate sales manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to corporate sales manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and target industry, then apply directly to each one.
