- Own our sales performance reporting across pipeline coverage and velocity, stage conversion, win rates, ramp and rep productivity, and quota attainment.
- Design our sales commission plans and oversee commission calculations, administration, and tracking.
- Direct ICP refinement and targeted prospect coverage, translating conversion and retention data into actionable strategies for how our teams go to market.
- Lead our operating cadence with regional Sales and Account Management leaders, reviewing performance against targets, funnel efficiency, and rep productivity and driving the actions that follow.
- Own CRM adoption and data discipline across Sales and Account Management, partnering with Revenue Operations on platform design, optimization, and change management.
- Lead our sales enablement agenda, including onboarding, training, sales methodology, plays, and our collateral library, while partnering with Marketing and Product on client-facing materials.

Sales Strategy Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales strategy manager in California?
Most California employers require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, or a related discipline, though many large tech and enterprise software companies also value candidates with an MBA. There is no state-issued license or registration for this role in California. The typical path runs through individual contributor sales or revenue operations roles before moving into strategy, and familiarity with California's dominant industries, particularly technology and life sciences, strengthens a candidacy significantly.
How much do sales strategy managers make in California?
Sales strategy managers in California earn a median of about $134,910 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,430 for the lowest 10% to over $300,580 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales strategy managers in California?
Employers hiring sales strategy managers in California right now include Paycom, DoorDash, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of enterprise technology, SaaS, and life sciences headquarters means demand for this role stays consistent year-round across the state.
Which California cities have the most sales strategy manager jobs?
San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles have the most sales strategy manager openings in California. San Francisco and the broader Bay Area dominate because of the high density of technology and SaaS company headquarters, Los Angeles draws openings from media, entertainment, and fintech employers, and San Diego's life sciences and defense technology sector drives consistent demand in that market.
Are there remote sales strategy manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. Sales strategy managers work primarily with data, presentations, and cross-functional meetings, which translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 60% of sales strategy manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech-forward culture of California's largest employers. Strategic planning, forecasting, and pipeline analysis are the functions most frequently performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a sales strategy manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales operations analyst or business development representative role at a California technology or SaaS company, which builds the forecasting and CRM skills employers expect at the strategy level. Large California employers like Salesforce, Adobe, and Oracle run structured rotational or associate programs that place early-career candidates on strategy-adjacent teams. A strong analytical portfolio, familiarity with Salesforce or similar platforms, and lateral experience from marketing operations or financial planning roles all give candidates a meaningful edge when making the move into strategy.
