An MBA from a New York-area institution such as Columbia Business School or NYU Stern is a common accelerant into senior roles.

New York City dominates because of its concentration of corporate headquarters in finance, advertising, and technology, while Albany and Buffalo attract roles tied to regional offices, state agency contractors, and manufacturing firms that maintain upstate commercial operations.
