Business Development Representative Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a business development representative job in Chicago?
Focus on Chicago's dense SaaS and fintech corridors, particularly companies headquartered in the Loop and River North neighborhoods. Familiarity with outbound prospecting tools and CRM platforms is expected by most local hiring managers. Candidates who can demonstrate pipeline generation experience or quota attainment in B2B contexts stand out. Attending Chicago tech meetups and targeting mid-size growth-stage companies in Fulton Market can open doors faster than applying broadly.
Which companies hire business development representatives in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring business development representatives in Chicago include Box, Paul Logistics, and ISEC, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Chicago's mix of enterprise technology firms, financial services companies, and healthcare organizations makes it one of the more active BDR markets in the Midwest.
Are there remote business development representative jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though many BDR roles require some on-site presence for team selling and manager coaching, especially at early-stage Chicago companies. About 64% of business development representative openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the remote-eligible roles more common at established SaaS and fintech firms. Cold calling and email prospecting functions are the most frequently performed remotely across Chicago employers.
How can I get a business development representative job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is targeting SaaS companies in River North and the West Loop that run structured BDR training programs for recent graduates. Companies hiring through Chicago-area universities and bootcamp partnerships often have explicit entry-level tracks. Starting in a sales development or inside sales coordinator role at a mid-size technology or professional services firm builds the outbound experience that Chicago employers look for in BDR candidates moving up.
Which industries hire the most business development representatives in Chicago?
Most business development representative openings in Chicago sit in Technology & Software, Marketing & Advertising, and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Chicago's position as a major hub for financial technology, enterprise software, and healthcare innovation drives consistent demand for BDRs who can open doors in those verticals.
