Literacy and Humanities:
The New Mexico Statewide Literacy Framework (NMSLF) is intended to support districts, schools, and teachers as they implement a comprehensive literacy system from birth through high school that ensures all students are prepared for meaningful post-secondary opportunities, including further education, meaningful employment, and lifelong learning.
Why does the job exist?
This position supports the Curriculum and Instruction Bureau. Provides program guidance and direction to business units and separate reporting activities on all matters pertaining to business and life-cycle acquisition processes. Defines and performs systems analysis and development tasks to improve workflow and operating efficiency. Makes recommendations to standardize procedures and processes and to introduce new technology or improve existing technology.
How does it get done?
This position is to provide specialized technical support services to the Literacy and Humanities and Math and Science Bureau's . The Bureau's manage multiple state appropriated budgets - Literacy, CLSD and Math and Science. Each program requires:
- applying various funding formulas;
- developing funding distribution tables;
- developing tentative and final allocation communications;
- preparing travel documents for staff site visits and their submission within the PED system for reimbursement (30%);
- regular communications with Administrative Services Department regarding appropriate identification of funding sources in support of Bureau initiatives and reconcile funding expenditures with source appropriations (30%)
- review and approve district program reimbursements and BARs, create requisitions, process payment invoices (20%);
- independently monitor and manage revenues/expenditures of multiple funding sources (20%); and
- understanding MO Us, Intergovernmental Agreements (IGAs) and Professional Services Contracts.

This position manages the process of creating funding award letters and IGAs and facilitates the approval process and communication distribution. This position reviews program reimbursement requests and facilitates processing.

Minimum Qualification
Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico's Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
