American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (LDRP) travel position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and an active NM or Compact RN license.
Details
- LDRP unit in a hospital setting, covering antepartum triage, active labor, postpartum (mom and baby), and special care nursery/nursery
- Unit consists of 1 triage bed, 3 labor beds, and 4 postpartum beds
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4 depending on assignment
- Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
- Floating is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR systems in use: MedHost (inpatient), GE Centricity (OB), and Athena (clinic)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and S.T.A.B.L.E.
- No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
- Valid driver's license required
- US Social Security Number required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care across the full LDRP scope: antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care
- Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical leadership, and scientific judgment in planning and delivering safe patient care
- Delegates patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
