Business Systems Analyst Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business systems analyst in Louisiana?
Most Louisiana employers expect a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or a closely related field. There is no state-issued license required to work as a business systems analyst in Louisiana. Earning a widely recognized certification such as the Certified Business Analysis Professional or the PMI Professional in Business Analysis strengthens candidacy considerably, and Louisiana's large energy and healthcare sectors often favor candidates who also hold relevant domain credentials.
How much do business systems analysts make in Louisiana?
Business systems analysts in Louisiana earn a median of about $95,660 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,960 for the lowest 10% to over $141,840 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business systems analysts in Louisiana?
Employers hiring business systems analysts in Louisiana right now include Tulane University, CVS Health, and LWCC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's energy utilities, regional bank branches, and large hospital networks are among the most consistent sources of ongoing business systems analyst demand across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most business systems analyst jobs?
New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Louisiana are the Louisiana cities with the most business systems analyst openings. New Orleans anchors demand through its financial services firms, tourism technology, and growing healthcare IT sector, while Baton Rouge draws heavily from state government agencies, petrochemical operators, and Louisiana State University's health and administrative systems, making both cities reliable hubs for this role.
Are there remote business systems analyst jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most fields, because business systems analyst work centers on documentation, analysis, and stakeholder communication that translates well to distributed teams. About 64% of business systems analyst openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry norms for analytical roles. Requirements-gathering, process modeling, and systems documentation tasks are the most consistently performed remotely across Louisiana employers.
How can I get hired as a business systems analyst in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business operations, project coordinator, or data reporting role within a Louisiana employer already familiar with your work. Ochsner Health and Entergy both run associate analyst and IT rotational programs that consider candidates from adjacent roles. Completing a recognized business analysis certification and building a small portfolio of process-improvement or requirements documents from coursework or volunteer projects gives Louisiana hiring managers concrete evidence of readiness before a first analyst title.
Where can I find and apply to business systems analyst jobs in Louisiana?
