Position overview
This position provides direct patient care, clinical support, and coordination of services for patients seen in our orthopedic and sports medicine clinics. This position works closely with providers, clinical nursing staff, and other team members to ensure safe, high-quality care and an excellent patient experience. This position is a Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Greet, room, and prepare patients for orthopedic visits, ensuring comfort, privacy, and a smooth flow of clinic schedules.
- Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, pain scores, and vital signs in the electronic medical record.
- Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures, including joint injections, wound care, dressing changes, and suture/staple removal within scope of practice and under appropriate supervision.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and injections per provider order and in accordance with nursing standards and clinic policies.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, post-visit instructions, medications, durable medical equipment, and follow-up care.
- Support care coordination by scheduling follow-up appointments, imaging, therapy, and referrals as directed.
- Participate in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment, including exam room turnover, inventory, and infection prevention practices.
- Accurately document all care provided and follow HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RN, LPN or Certified Medical Assistant program.
