The medical assistant will support our physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff by performing patient care tasks, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and ensuring smooth clinical operations. Responsibilities:
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, medical history, and medication lists.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
- Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures.
- Perform EKGs, administer injections, and collect lab specimens as trained/credentialed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and electronic medical records AMR.
- Support scheduling, prior authorizations, and medication refills as needed.
- Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and ready for use.
- Provide patient education regarding medications procedures and follow up care.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program required
- Current medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA or equivalent) required
- Current CPR certification required, or willingness to attain upon hire
- Prior experience in cardiology or specialty practice is a plus
- Strong computer/EMR proficiency and excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and deliver outstanding patient care
