Certified Medical Assistant Jobs in Wyoming: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a certified medical assistant in Wyoming?
You become a certified medical assistant in Wyoming by completing an accredited medical assisting program, then passing a national certification exam such as the CMA offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the RMA offered by American Medical Technologists. Wyoming does not issue a state-specific medical assistant license, so the nationally recognized credential is what employers require. Community colleges like Laramie County Community College and Casper College offer accredited programs in the state.
Which companies hire certified medical assistants in Wyoming?
Employers hiring certified medical assistants in Wyoming right now include Banner Health, Community Care Partners, and SageWest Health Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wyoming's large integrated health systems and federally qualified health centers tend to post openings year-round across both urban clinics and rural outreach sites.
Which Wyoming cities have the most certified medical assistant jobs?
Torrington, Casper, and Gillette have the most certified medical assistant openings in Wyoming. Cheyenne and Casper lead because they are home to the state's largest hospital systems and the highest concentration of specialty and primary care clinics, while Gillette's growth in energy-sector employment has driven demand for occupational and general health services in that region.
Are there remote certified medical assistant jobs in Wyoming?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of certified medical assistant openings tied to Wyoming are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role is by nature. The portions of the work most suited to remote or hybrid arrangements include telehealth patient prep, prior authorization support, and medical records coordination for larger health systems.
How can I get hired as a certified medical assistant in Wyoming with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a medical assistant trainee or clinical support associate role at one of Wyoming's community health centers or critical access hospitals, which regularly bring on candidates who hold a completed program certificate but lack full work history. Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and Wyoming Medical Center both post entry-level clinical support positions that accept new graduates. Earning your national certification before applying, even without experience, gives you a concrete edge over candidates who have not yet tested. A background as a CNA, phlebotomist, or patient care technician is also a common lateral move that opens the door quickly.
Where can I find and apply to certified medical assistant jobs in Wyoming?
You can find and apply to certified medical assistant jobs in Wyoming on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your credentials and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
