Entry Level Certified Public Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level certified public accountant job?
Entry level certified public accountant roles reward candidates who show hands-on internship experience, progress toward CPA licensure, and proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP. Employers at this level prioritize demonstrated attention to detail, familiarity with GAAP, and the ability to support audit or tax workflows. A degree in accounting or finance, paired with at least one completed exam section, gives candidates a clear edge over general business graduates.
Which companies hire entry level certified public accountants?
Companies hiring entry level certified public accountants right now include Paychex and ADP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide mix of employers, including regional accounting firms, corporate finance departments, and public sector organizations actively recruiting new graduates to fill audit, tax, and advisory support roles.
Are there remote entry level certified public accountant jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid arrangements are still common at the entry level. About 33% of entry level certified public accountant openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting growing flexibility from firms that have adapted their onboarding and supervision processes for distributed teams. Fully remote roles tend to appear more often in corporate accounting than in public accounting firms.
Are these new grad certified public accountant jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior certified public accountant roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship hours in place of full-time history, or explicitly invites candidates who are actively pursuing CPA licensure. New grad roles often focus on foundational tasks like reconciliations, tax preparation support, and audit assistance rather than independent client management.
Which industries hire the most entry level certified public accountants?
Entry Level certified public accountant roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they require consistent compliance reporting, financial statement preparation, and regulatory auditing that benefit from dedicated junior accounting staff year-round.
