Clinic Registered Nurse Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinic registered nurse in Kansas?
You become a clinic registered nurse in Kansas by earning an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program, passing the NCLEX-RN, and obtaining an active RN license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Kansas participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact, so nurses holding a compact license from another member state can practice in Kansas without applying for a separate license. Most clinic employers then prefer candidates with some outpatient or ambulatory care experience.
How much do clinic registered nurses make in Kansas?
Clinic registered nurses in Kansas earn a median of about $79,320 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,180 for the lowest 10% to over $100,840 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinic registered nurses in Kansas?
Employers hiring clinic registered nurses in Kansas right now include The University of Kansas Health System, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, and Holton Community Hospital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Kansas's largest integrated health systems, federally qualified health centers, and multispecialty outpatient groups account for the majority of clinic RN openings across the state.
Which Kansas cities have the most clinic registered nurse jobs?
Kansas City, Overland Park, and Olathe consistently post the most clinic registered nurse openings in Kansas. Wichita leads as the state's largest metro with the densest concentration of hospital-affiliated clinics and multispecialty outpatient centers, while Kansas City benefits from its position in a major bi-state health corridor, and Topeka's openings are anchored by state government health services and Stormont Vail's regional clinic network.
Are there remote clinic registered nurse jobs in Kansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinic registered nursing is fundamentally a hands-on, patient-facing role, which limits remote options significantly. About 25% of clinic registered nurse openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be in telephone triage, care coordination, or utilization review rather than direct patient assessment.
How can I get hired as a clinic registered nurse in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is applying to new-graduate residency or nurse transition programs, which The University of Kansas Health System and Ascension Via Christi both run for newly licensed RNs. Community health clinics and federally qualified health centers in Kansas often hire new graduates for care coordination or patient navigator roles that build toward a full clinic RN position. Holding an active Kansas RN license before applying, completing a clinical rotation in an outpatient setting, and earning a BLS certification all strengthen a new-graduate application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to clinic registered nurse jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to clinic registered nurse jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, specialty, and preferred city, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
