Mississippi's largest health systems and federally qualified health centers account for a significant share of clinic nurse openings, particularly in underserved rural counties where ambulatory staffing needs are high.
Which Mississippi cities have the most clinic registered nurse jobs?
Jackson, Gulfport, and Mississippi lead Mississippi in clinic registered nurse openings. Jackson drives volume as the state capital and home to University of Mississippi Medical Center and its affiliated outpatient network, while Hattiesburg and Gulfport generate openings through regional health systems and the coastal medical corridor that serves a broad patient population across the Pine Belt and Gulf Coast.

Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of clinic registered nurse openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that most clinic nursing work requires in-person patient assessment and hands-on care. The portions of the role most likely to shift to remote or phone-based formats are nurse triage, care coordination follow-up calls, and chronic disease management check-ins.
How can I get hired as a clinic registered nurse in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate nurse residency programs, which University of Mississippi Medical Center and Forrest Health run specifically for nurses with limited clinical hours.
