Job Description

Tutela Plastic Surgery is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and compassionate Surgical Coordinator / Clinical Assistant to join our growing team in East Hanover, NJ.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Patient Care

• Scribe during patient consultations, examinations, and office visits, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation.
• Assist during in-office procedures and treatments as needed.
• Perform blood draws for PRP treatments, as permitted by credentials and applicable requirements.
• Start IVs if within the scope of your license.
• Assist with preoperative patient preparation, including coordinating required testing, reviewing results within the scope of practice, and ensuring necessary documentation is completed.
• Provide patient education regarding surgical preparation, postoperative care, and recovery instructions.
• Assist with postoperative patient visits and assessments as appropriate within the scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and organized patient medical records.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.

Surgical Scheduling & Coordination

• Schedule surgical procedures at hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
• Work closely with the physician and surgical team to organize and maintain the surgical schedule.
• Communicate with surgical facilities to ensure all necessary paperwork, scheduling requirements, and preoperative documentation are completed.
• Order breast implants for upcoming procedures and maintain accurate implant tracking.
• Assist with coordinating surgical logistics to ensure a seamless experience for patients and providers.
• Experience with EPIC or similar surgical scheduling systems is a plus.

Office Operations & Team Support

• Manage ordering and inventory of medical supplies to ensure the office is properly stocked.
• Support the clinical team with daily office operations and patient flow.
• Assist with administrative and front office responsibilities as needed.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming office environment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.
• Take initiative and step in wherever needed to support the overall success of the practice.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinical setting.
• Comfortable working in both clinical and administrative capacities.
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Positive, compassionate, and patient-centered attitude.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical record and scheduling systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, or a surgical practice.
• Experience coordinating and scheduling surgeries at hospitals or ambulatory surgery centers.
• Familiarity with EPIC or similar surgical scheduling platforms.
• Experience with preoperative and postoperative patient care.
• Experience with phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of surgical supplies, breast implant ordering, and inventory management.

Pay: $25.00 - $42.00 per hour
