Job Description
UMass Boston invites applications for a clinical lecturer who will hold a full-time 12-month non-tenure track faculty position in the Department of Nursing. Our programs focus on health in urban populations of all ages and target improving health equity in populations at risk for healthcare disparities.
The position is designed for a doctoral prepared faculty to teach primarily in the undergraduate program. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in undergraduate nursing curriculum, course development, NCLEX preparation and testing, didactic instruction and student remediation in nursing. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses online and face-to-face in areas and courses based upon expertise and department needs; contribute to curriculum, governance, and evaluation of all nursing program components. Candidates will be expected to actively participate in departmental service obligations and attend college, department, and program meetings on campus. UMASS Boston seeks candidates with a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population. The normal teaching assignment for twelve-month clinical faculty at UMass Boston is twelve (12) 3-credit bearing (36 credits) courses distributed across the year.

- Deliver high-quality instruction in nursing courses, ensuring alignment with program objectives, evidence-based practice, and professional standards;
- Effectively uses and is knowledgeable of current e-learning technologies;
- Participate actively in program, departmental and university committees, contributing expertise to support the institution's mission and strategic goals;
- Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students, foster critical thinking, and facilitate active learning;
- Attend and actively engage in program, department and university meetings;
- Effectively collaborates and communicates with students, faculty, and staff;
- Offers guidance and support to students, fostering a positive and conducive learning environment;
- Contribute to program success through participation in activities related to student admission, progression, and orientation, as well as curriculum review;
- Maintain an active presence and engagement throughout the semester with students by assisting students in the application of knowledge, skills, attitudes;
- Participates in curriculum evaluation and development;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Doctoral Degree in nursing (Ph.D., DNP, or EDD) from an accredited college or university;
Current/unencumbered Massachusetts state RN license;
Teaching experience in higher education required, online teaching experience is preferred;
Excellent leadership, public speaking and oral communication skills in order to convey knowledge with students;
Preference will be given to applicants with peer-reviewed, practice-oriented scholarship and leadership positions in national professional organizations;
Outstanding record of professional service commensurate with career stage;
Understanding of healthcare disparities and disparate needs of historically underserved communities;
Excellent communication, collaboration, assessment, evaluation, and interpersonal skills;
Current CPR, CORI, and other documentation as required.

UMass Boston expects to pay within an approximate range between $90,000 and $115,000 for this position.
The specific pay for this position will be determined by the University based on the consideration of all relevant factors when and if it decides to extend an offer of employment.
