Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the direction and coordination of all clinical related functions in our clinic. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator is the resource and preceptor for the clinical staff assisting with new hire orientation, ongoing clinical competencies, and educational needs. They are responsible for the overall quality of nursing care in the Women’s Health clinics; decisions are made in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team following Standards of Nursing care, Human Resources and Mon Health policies and procedures. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator will support the mission and vision of Mon Health System.
Responsibilities
General/ Problem Solving
Supervises personnel providing direct patient care while effectively addressing issues and solving problems utilizing professional judgement and forward thinking. Provides direct and ongoing supervision of clinical staff including conflict resolution and service recovery. Ensures concerns and issues are managed up to the provider and/or service line director when appropriate. Manages stressful situations in an appropriate manner while modeling a calm demeanor.
Clinical Excellence
Facilitates ongoing performance improvement activities and quality initiatives while working with the team to maintain high standards of care including compliance with Core Measures. Collects and reports data as assigned including audits and patient and staff rounds. Ensures clinical competency education and alignment, responsible for reviewing and updating clinical policies and protocols, creates staffing schedules and updates staffing as needed throughout the day.
Employee Engagement/Physician Engagement
Leads, coaches, develops, and recognizes staff to maximize performance and growth. Manages staff in a competent manner promoting high employee morale Leads Peer Panel interviews for staff positions making recommendations to Director/designee.
Service Excellence
Leads by example holding staff accountable to the ICARE values, behavior, and attitudes. Participates in Nurse Leader Rounding in the clinic, leads clinical huddles. Trains, educates and validates that staff are competent in all areas relates to Women’s Health.
Finance
Maintain effective utilization of staff resources managing productivity, equipment and supplies. Validates appropriate staffing levels/skill mix in accordance with volume/care demands.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience; Continued demonstration of clinical competency. Must demonstrates good organizational skill, provide and support safe and appropriate patient care; Must utilizes good judgment and superior problem-solving skills with positive and professional communication with internal and external customers.
