Clinical Dietitian Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical dietitian in Arizona?
To become a clinical dietitian in Arizona, you must earn a bachelor's or master's degree in dietetics or nutrition, complete an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship, and pass the national Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Arizona requires a separate state license issued by the Arizona State Board of Dietetics, and you must apply for that license before practicing clinically in the state.
How much do clinical dietitians make in Arizona?
Clinical dietitians in Arizona earn a median of about $64,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,150 for the lowest 10% to over $92,370 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical dietitians in Arizona?
Employers hiring clinical dietitians in Arizona right now include Tucson Medical Center, HonorHealth, and CommonSpirit Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's large integrated health systems, including Banner Health and Dignity Health, are among the most consistent sources of full-time clinical dietitian openings across acute care and outpatient settings.
Which Arizona cities have the most clinical dietitian jobs?
Tucson, Phoenix, and Cottonwood have the most clinical dietitian openings in Arizona. Phoenix dominates because it is home to the state's largest hospital networks and medical centers, while Tucson's openings are anchored by Banner University Medical Center and a strong outpatient community health presence, and Scottsdale draws demand from specialty hospitals and upscale integrated wellness systems.
Are there remote clinical dietitian jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical dietitian work is largely hands-on, involving bedside assessments, patient counseling, and interdisciplinary care team collaboration that requires an in-person presence. About 0% of clinical dietitian openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The sub-areas most likely to offer remote flexibility are telehealth nutrition counseling and utilization management roles within managed care organizations.
How can I get hired as a clinical dietitian in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for dietetic internship-to-hire programs or new-graduate clinical positions at Banner Health or Valleywise Health, both of which hire candidates directly following internship completion. Look for titles like clinical dietitian I, nutrition support dietitian, or diet technician to build foundational hours. Holding your Arizona state license and your Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential on the day you apply gives you a clear edge over candidates who are still completing the registration process.
Where can I find and apply to clinical dietitian jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to clinical dietitian jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and specialty area, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
