Clinical Dietitian Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical dietitian in Florida?
To work as a clinical dietitian in Florida, you must hold an active license issued by the Florida Department of Health under the Council of Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionists. That requires completing an accredited dietetics program, finishing a supervised dietetic internship, and passing the national Registration Examination for Dietitians administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Florida does not offer reciprocity, so applicants licensed in other states must apply directly to the Florida board.
How much do clinical dietitians make in Florida?
Clinical dietitians in Florida earn a median of about $76,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,920 for the lowest 10% to over $93,530 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire clinical dietitians in Florida?
Employers hiring clinical dietitians in Florida right now include Nemours Children's Health, Baptist Health South Florida, and EmVenio Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's large hospital systems and integrated health networks generate the steadiest volume of openings, particularly for dietitians with experience in acute care or specialty units.
Which Florida cities have the most clinical dietitian jobs?
Jacksonville, Miami, and Orlando have the most clinical dietitian openings in Florida right now. Miami's density of large academic medical centers and specialty hospitals drives the bulk of South Florida demand, while Tampa and Orlando reflect the concentration of major health systems like AdventHealth and HCA Florida Healthcare that operate dozens of facilities across both metro areas.
Are there remote clinical dietitian jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Clinical dietitian work is largely hands-on, tied to bedside assessments, patient rounds, and direct care settings that require an on-site presence. About 8% of clinical dietitian openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and the roles that do go remote tend to involve telehealth nutrition counseling or outpatient case management rather than acute inpatient work.
How can I get hired as a clinical dietitian in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate or dietetic residency programs at large Florida health systems, with AdventHealth and HCA Florida Healthcare among the employers that have historically run structured onboarding tracks for early-career dietitians. Candidates transitioning from diet technician or nutrition assistant roles have a meaningful edge because they already hold facility familiarity and chart access. A current Florida dietitian license and documented internship hours are the credentials that move an application to the top of the pile at most Florida acute-care facilities.
Where can I find and apply to clinical dietitian jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to clinical dietitian jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your specialty, experience level, and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
