POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial drywall and paint projects across the Denver, CO Metro area. This role works closely with Project Managers, field leadership, vendors, and general contractors to ensure accurate documentation, timely procurement, quality control, and smooth project workflow. The Project Engineer plays a key role in maintaining project schedules, tracking costs, and supporting field operations from preconstruction through closeout.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Coordination & Documentation
- Assist with project setup, including submittal logs, schedule and RFIs
- Prepare, track, and maintain submittals, RFIs, ASIs, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
- Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules, including look‑ahead schedules and material delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate drawing sets, ensuring field teams have the latest plans, details, and specifications.
- Attend trade coordination meetings or any meetings for the project.
- Manage uploads of Open Space (job site images) captures; collect job site image captures using Open Space or other technology.
- Assist with project badging processes.
Procurement & Cost Management
- Assist with material takeoffs for drywall, framing, insulation, taping, and paint scopes.
- Prepare purchase orders and coordinate material deliveries with suppliers.
- Track material usage, delivery tickets, and cost impacts.
Field Support
- Conduct site walks to verify progress, identify issues, and support quality control.
- Assist with manpower tracking, and production analysis.
- Assist with project software management (i.e. Procore, Helix or similar)
- Help coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with specifications and installation standards.
- Support field teams with clarifications, updated drawings, and material needs.
Change Management
- Assist in identifying scope gaps, conflicts, and potential change events.
- Prepare change order requests, including pricing, backup documentation, and schedule impacts.
- Track pending, approved, and rejected change orders.
- Tracking and Pricing T&M Tickets.
Project Closeout
- Support punch list creation and completion tracking.
- Prepare closeout documentation, including O&M manuals, warranties, and as‑built drawings.
- Owner Stock Turnover
In this position you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting project management, field operations, or construction administration.
- A strong understanding of construction documents, architectural details, and finish schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook,
- Basic estimating skills, including quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication with field teams, suppliers, and GC partners.
- Detail‑oriented approach to documentation, tracking, and follow‑through.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to identify issues early and support resolution.
- A valid Driver's License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- A reliable vehicle and willingness to drive to and from multiple job sites across the Denver, metro area
