Job Summary:
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and costs to ensure profitable and efficient project execution. The estimator collaborates with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing data and develop precise bid proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation & Analysis:
- Prepare detailed estimates for materials, labor, and equipment based on project blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for various construction trades.
- Analyze project risks and opportunities to optimize costs.
- Bid Preparation & Management:
- Develop and submit accurate, competitive bids within deadlines.
- Review RFPs, RFIs, and bid documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a database of historical costs, pricing, and subcontractor quotes for reference.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing to secure the most cost-effective solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- Project Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to refine cost estimates.
- Participate in pre-bid
