Description
SAIC has an opportunity on our NORAD/NITES newly awarded program for a Communications Technician onsite in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will serve as immediate response information technology support technician for the NORAD & US NORTHCOM Headquarters Joint Operation Center (JOC).
The Communications Technician will be supporting senior Civilian and Military personnel by providing technical assistance for NIPR/SIPR client maintenance and support, as well as virtual machine troubleshooting for virtual desktop infrastructures, network and server degradation, and software misconfigurations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all hardware, workstations, networks, peripheral devices, Crestron /VTC feeds, secured phones, applications, and printer management.
- Performs system configuration for VDI and profile issues, with experienced knowledge on modifications for security group policy and accesses elevated token privileges for Tiers 1 & 2 administration.
- Access Print Management Servers for the installation and server configuration for printers on multiple network servers, mapping Internet Protocol for network connectivity, troubleshooting, and printing capabilities.
- Manage the Defense Enterprise Provisioning Online (DEPO) services for N&NC Persona Single-Entry and Non-Persona Entry for provisioning and deprovisioning O365 entitlements, as well as creation, modification, and assigning of DoD organizational mailboxes (OMB), calendars, and distribution lists (DL).
- Utilize VMware Horizon and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for session and server configuration, connectivity troubleshooting, domain and resource monitoring, critical event databases, and the overall maintenance of virtual session users and groups.
- Create and contribute to N&NC Knowledge Base Article database for Tier 0 – 2 technician guides.
- Streamline communication by interacting with multiple operational and organization teams of contractors, civilians, and military personnel, exceeding contractual requirements and fostering the customer relationship.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensures workstation data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science Degree in related field plus 2-4 years of experience or HS plus 6-8 years of experience to qualify for this position.
- Active Top Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
- DoD 8750 Compliance and IAT Level 2 Certification: CompTIA’s Security+CE.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Active Directory for modification, permissions, policies, security groups, and share drive connectivity of user accounts.
- Familiarity with the Ivanti service operations tool for documentation and resolution, supporting N&NC Service Level Agreements and a growing resolution database.
- Windows OS expertise to include advanced windows settings, desktop configurations, image deployment, installation, remote management, network troubleshooting, recovery, storage and update management, Hyper-V, and Security Management.
