Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic communications professional to help lead our brand's reputation management and national earned media strategy to create impactful campaigns that generate awareness and build reputation for Credit One Bank. The role is responsible for overseeing our partner PR agencies in driving brand awareness and delivering meaningful storytelling that strengthens trust and relevance with consumers and reinforces Credit One's leadership and expertise in financial services and education.
The ideal candidate is an authoritative communications leader who understands the earned media landscape and which levers to pull to create "news hooks." They can navigate a matrixed organization and highly regulated industry, manage complex programs, confidently make decisions, and advise senior stakeholders.
The role works closely with product, brand, social media, and sponsorship teams to support efforts to enhance brand value, including The Las Vegas Raiders, Vegas Golden Knights, the Credit One Charleston Open Tennis tournament, and others.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Strategic Communications & Brand Positioning:
- Develop and execute integrated PR strategies that build the Bank's reputation
- Evaluate PR agencies earned media strategies and provide constructive feedback to ensure optimal storytelling and brand positioning
- Identify compelling story angles that articulate the brand's value proposition in ways that resonate with consumers and break through with earned media
- Translate business priorities, new product offerings, and marketing campaigns into newsworthy earned media narratives
- Integrate PR into 360-degree campaigns, ensuring earned media amplifies creative ideas and strengthens broader marketing mix
Celebrity & Partnership Communications:
- Lead PR strategy and media engagement for celebrity partnerships, ensuring alignment with brand and business objectives
- Leverage sports sponsorship and brand partnerships to create proactive, culturally relevant earned storytelling moments
- Identify and evaluate sponsorship opportunities through a PR lens, identifying reputation opportunities and risk
Reputation and Crisis Management:
- Support VP, Brand Communications & Advertising in proactive and reactive reputation management initiatives
- Identify creative ideas for positive brand storytelling and thought-leadership opportunities to build profile for brand and key executives
- Support crisis communications planning and real-time response efforts
Agency & Cross Functional Leadership:
- Act as the PR quarterback for internal Brand Communications team and agency teams, drawing up effective game plans and effectively executing them
- Partner and collaborate with other internal teams, including Products, Legal, Marketing, and Compliance
- Help VP of Brand Communications manage the internal budget, tracking all invoices, payments, and forecasting
Measurement & Insights:
- Establish KPIs and success metrics aligned with brand and business objectives
- Apply audience insights, cultural trends and media intelligence to uncover emerging opportunities
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, or a Communications-related field
- 8+ years of public relations experience, corporate communications, or brand communications; financial services experience is preferred
- Deep understanding of the earned media landscape, including traditional, digital, and cultural platforms
- Proven experience managing celebrity partnerships with high-profile talent
- Strong background in reputation management and crisis communications
- Demonstrated ability to integrate PR authentically into 360-degree campaigns
- Strong analytical and measurement mindset; comfortable using data to inform insight and strategy
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Experience leading agency partners to success and working in complex, matrixed organizations
- A detailed, strategic thinker and self-starter who can collaborate with others, thrive under pressure, and get things done with minimal supervision
