Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator | Purple Sky Counseling
Location: Utah, based at Murray, (hybrid, with local travel to events along the Wasatch Front) |
Schedule: Part-time, 25-30 hours], including some evenings and weekends for events |
Pay: $20-$25/hr
Purple Sky Counseling is a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming group practice with eight locations across Utah and online therapy statewide. We see children, teens, adults, couples and families, and we work hard to make getting started feel clear and manageable for people who are already overwhelmed. We're hiring our first in-house marketing coordinator to own our social media and community presence, so more people know we're here and how to reach us.
The mission of this role: make sure people across Utah know Purple Sky exists, trust us before they ever call, and find it easy to take the first step. You'll do that online and in person, in a voice that sounds like us.
What you'll do:
- Social media: Run our Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and LinkedIn accounts. Plan, write, film and edit short-form video and posts, schedule them, and track what's working. You'll write in two voices: Purple Sky's practice voice, and our founder's own voice for her on-camera content.
- Community outreach: Find and book tabling at health fairs, schools, community events, and partner organizations. Show up, set up, and represent Purple Sky in person, mostly along the Wasatch Front. (No photos of clients at events, and no client details in conversations or posts.)
- Google Business and website: Post weekly to all eight of our Google Business Profiles, and keep therapist bios, hours, and location details current on our Squarespace site, following our SEO guidelines.
- Blog: Publish blog posts and share them across our channels.
- Promotional materials: Design flyers and print pieces in Canva. Keep our branded giveaways (fidgets, swag, and more) stocked and reorder before events.
- Marketing plan: Learn our marketing plan and the systems behind it alongside our marketing consultant during your first months, then carry it forward.
- Reporting: Share a short monthly report on what was posted, which events you attended, new reviews and website inquiries, plus what you'd try next. Review the monthly report from our Google Ads partner and flag questions to the Operations Director.
What success looks like in your first six months:
- [3] community events a month across our locations by month 3
- [5] posts a week on every platform we use, on schedule, by month 2
- Weekly posts on all eight Google Business Profiles, starting in your first month
- [5] new Google reviews for the locations that need them by month 6, collected within Google's review rules
- A monthly report, starting in month 2, that tracks website inquiries from social and events so the team can see what's working
You'll be a great fit if you:
- Stay organized across lots of projects and follow through without reminders
- Write about mental health warmly and plainly, without clichés
- Can film and edit short-form video, and make sure the caption matches what's said on camera
- Enjoy starting conversations with strangers at a busy event table
- Use AI tools well and know where the privacy lines are
- Bring ideas, test them, and share what worked and what didn't
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, social media, or community outreach
- Portfolio or examples of accounts or campaigns you've managed, including short-form video
- Sound judgment about privacy: no client photos or client details in posts or conversations. We provide HIPAA training in your first two weeks.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for local events, and some evening or weekend availability
- Healthcare, mental health, or wellness experience is a plus
Who you'll work with: You'll report to our operations lead. Our founder reviews anything written in her voice, and our marketing consultant works alongside you during your first months for a hands-on handoff.
Why Purple Sky: You'd be our first in-house marketing hire, with a plan, tools, and support already in place instead of a blank page. Your work helps people who've been putting off therapy find the right person to call. As the practice grows, this role can grow with it.

Community Outreach Coordinator Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a community outreach coordinator in Utah?
Most community outreach coordinator positions in Utah require a bachelor's degree in social work, public health, communications, nonprofit management, or a closely related field. There is no state-issued license specific to this role in Utah, but employers often prefer candidates who have completed relevant coursework or a practicum through programs at the University of Utah, Utah Valley University, or Westminster University. Building experience through volunteer coordination, case management, or program assistant roles at local nonprofits or county health departments is the most direct path to a first coordinator position.
Which companies hire community outreach coordinators in Utah?
Companies currently hiring community outreach coordinators in Utah include Synergy PT, Senior Helpers, and University of Utah, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Utah's large integrated healthcare systems, county human services departments, and federally funded community health centers are among the most consistent sources of openings in this field.
Which Utah cities have the most community outreach coordinator jobs?
Provo, Salt Lake City, and Ogden are the Utah cities with the most community outreach coordinator openings, driven primarily by the concentration of nonprofit headquarters, county government agencies, and major healthcare systems in the Salt Lake metro, with Provo and Orem adding volume through Utah Valley University affiliates, community health clinics, and Wasatch Front human services organizations.
Are there remote community outreach coordinator jobs in Utah?
Yes, but they're rare. Community outreach work is fundamentally relationship-driven and often requires in-person presence at community events, partner sites, and client-facing programs, which limits fully remote arrangements. About 100% of community outreach coordinator openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, with most flexibility appearing in roles focused on digital communications, grant writing, or program reporting rather than direct community engagement.
How can I get hired as a community outreach coordinator in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a program assistant or community health worker role at a Utah county health department or regional nonprofit, then moving into a coordinator position after gaining hands-on program experience. Salt Lake County's Division of Human Services and Intermountain Health's community benefit programs both bring on entry-level staff and AmeriCorps volunteers who often transition into full coordinator roles. Completing a certified community health worker training, offered through the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, also gives candidates a concrete credential that distinguishes them in competitive applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to community outreach coordinator jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to community outreach coordinator jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
