Business Office Associate Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business office associate in Utah?
Most business office associate roles in Utah do not require a state-issued license, but employers strongly prefer candidates with a high school diploma or associate degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field. For positions in medical billing, completing a nationally recognized coding certificate such as a Certified Professional Coder credential strengthens your application. Utah employers in healthcare frequently look for familiarity with Epic, which is widely used across Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health facilities.
Which companies hire business office associates in Utah?
Employers hiring business office associates in Utah right now include Avista Senior Living, BAE Systems USA, and Bristol Hospice, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's large integrated healthcare systems and financial institutions generate the most consistent volume of business office associate openings in the state.
Which Utah cities have the most business office associate jobs?
Lehi, Nephi, and Murray have the most business office associate openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the largest share due to its concentration of hospital systems, corporate headquarters, and state government offices, while Provo and Ogden benefit from the presence of major university health systems, regional banks, and growing technology-adjacent administrative operations.
Are there remote business office associate jobs in Utah?
Yes, and they're more common than in many administrative roles because much of the work involves billing systems, data entry, and phone-based patient or client communication that can be done off-site. About 0% of business office associate openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with remote availability highest in medical billing, insurance verification, and accounts receivable coordination roles.
How can I get hired as a business office associate in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a patient access representative or front-desk coordinator role at one of Utah's large healthcare systems, which regularly bring on candidates without direct billing experience and provide on-the-job training. Intermountain Health and University of Utah Health both run structured onboarding programs for administrative staff. Completing a short medical billing or coding certificate through Salt Lake Community College or Utah Valley University signals commitment and fills the credential gap that most entry-level listings mention.
