Business Office Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business office associate in Texas?
Most Texas employers expect at least an associate degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a closely related field, though some larger health systems accept equivalent work experience. Texas does not require a state license specifically for business office associates, but roles in healthcare billing benefit from a Certified Professional Biller credential through the American Academy of Professional Coders. Starting in patient access, insurance verification, or administrative support is the most common entry path at Texas hospital systems and clinics.
Which companies hire business office associates in Texas?
Companies currently hiring business office associates in Texas include Heartland Dental, CarMax, and Optum, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of large integrated health networks, financial services firms, and regional corporate campuses means openings appear consistently across the state rather than clustering only in one metro.
Which Texas cities have the most business office associate jobs?
Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin have the most business office associate openings in Texas. Houston's large medical center and energy-sector headquarters drive volume there, while Dallas draws demand from its dense mix of corporate campuses and major regional health systems, and San Antonio benefits from USAA's large administrative workforce and the South Texas Military Health System.
Are there remote business office associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, and they are reasonably common given the desk-based, administrative nature of the role. About 14% of business office associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves software platforms, digital records, and phone or email communication. Billing, coding, accounts receivable, and insurance follow-up functions are the sub-areas most frequently offered remotely by Texas employers.
How can I get hired as a business office associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for patient access representative or front-desk coordinator roles at Texas hospital systems, which regularly hire candidates without prior business office experience and provide structured on-the-job training. Large Texas employers like HCA Healthcare and Baylor Scott and White Health run new-hire cohort programs for administrative staff. Earning a Certified Professional Biller or medical billing certificate from a Texas community college, such as Austin Community College or Houston Community College, signals readiness and gives applicants a competitive edge over others at the same experience level.
Where can I find and apply to business office associate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to business office associate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across healthcare, financial services, and corporate settings. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and preferred location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
