Frame Your Experience Around Market Operations
Airbnb's Business Manager roles typically focus on host supply, market expansion, or cross-functional program ownership. Structure your resume around outcomes tied to those functions, not generic management responsibilities, so your profile matches the internal language recruiters use.
Confirm LCA Filing Before Accepting Offers
Before you sign, verify that Airbnb has submitted your Labor Condition Application to DOL. This step must be certified before any H-1B or E-3 petition can be filed, and delays here directly push back your start date.
Target Roles With Multi-Visa Eligibility
Business Manager openings at Airbnb can support H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT pathways depending on your nationality and timeline. Identifying which visa type fits your situation before applying helps you prioritize roles and negotiate realistic start dates with the hiring team.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Active Sponsorship Openings
Airbnb posts Business Manager roles across multiple internal tracks that aren't always labeled as sponsorship-eligible. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for open roles at Airbnb that align with your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Justification Early
USCIS scrutinizes whether Business Manager roles qualify as specialty occupations for H-1B purposes. Before your employer files, work with their immigration counsel to document why your specific role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, using your actual job duties, not a generic title.
Account for PERM Timelines If You Want Permanence
If your goal is a Green Card through Airbnb, understand that EB-2 or EB-3 PERM labor certification processing currently runs 12 to 18 months at DOL before the I-140 petition stage even begins. Raise the topic with your manager and HR contact early in your tenure, not after your H-1B is close to its six-year limit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Airbnb sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Airbnb sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. The role typically needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Airbnb's in-house immigration team generally manages the process, but timelines depend on when in the H-1B cap cycle you receive your offer.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Airbnb?
Applications go through Airbnb's careers portal, where Business Manager openings are listed under functions like Operations, Finance, or Strategy. Tailor your application to the specific market or business unit the role covers. Migrate Mate is a reliable way to browse currently open Business Manager positions at Airbnb that are known to support visa sponsorship, so you can apply with clarity on your eligibility before you start the process.
Which visa types does Airbnb commonly use for Business Manager roles?
Airbnb sponsors several visa types for Business Manager positions, including H-1B for most nationalities, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, and TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying business or management credentials. F-1 OPT is also supported for recent graduates in their authorized work period. The right pathway depends on your citizenship, degree field, and when you need to start work.
What qualifications does Airbnb expect for Business Manager roles?
Most Business Manager roles at Airbnb require a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or a closely related field, with several years of experience in strategy, operations, or program management. Hospitality or marketplace industry experience is a differentiator. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree field needs to map directly to the role's core duties, which matters especially for H-1B specialty occupation review at USCIS.
How do I navigate the timeline between an Airbnb offer and my visa start date?
The gap between receiving an offer and legally starting work depends on your visa type. H-1B cap-subject petitions have a fixed October 1 start date, which can mean waiting months after an offer. E-3 and TN petitions move faster, often within four to eight weeks of filing. Clarify your target start date and visa pathway with Airbnb's HR team early in negotiations so the DOL and USCIS filing timelines align with your situation.
