Certify Your Credentials Before Applying
Industrial gas facilities like Airgas often require OSHA safety certifications and equipment-specific qualifications. Having these documented before you apply signals you're ready to meet compliance requirements from day one, which matters in a chemicals and materials environment.
Target Airgas Facilities Near Distribution Hubs
Airgas operates filling plants and production facilities across the U.S., and hiring tends to concentrate around regional distribution infrastructure. Searching by facility type, not just job title, helps you find Manufacturing Technician openings with active headcount needs.
Browse Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Airgas posts Manufacturing Technician roles across multiple locations at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter for positions at Airgas that align with your visa type so you're only engaging with roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Understand How PERM Affects Your Timeline
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Airgas would need to complete a PERM labor certification with the DOL before filing your immigrant visa petition. That process typically runs six months to over a year, so raise green card pathways only after you have a firm offer.
Address the H-1B Specialty Occupation Standard Directly
H-1B approval for Manufacturing Technician roles requires demonstrating that the position meets USCIS's specialty occupation criteria. Frame your application around any engineering coursework, technical degree, or specialized process knowledge that elevates the role beyond general labor.
Confirm Your Work Authorization Status at Offer Stage
Airgas participates in E-Verify, so your employment eligibility is confirmed electronically on hire. Before signing an offer, align with HR on whether they'll file an H-1B cap-subject petition or support a cap-exempt transfer if you're already in valid H-1B status with another employer.

Find Manufacturing Technician at Airgas JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Airgas sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technicians?
Yes, Airgas has sponsored H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technician roles. Because these positions involve specialized chemical processing and industrial gas systems, they can qualify under USCIS's specialty occupation standard when the role requires a relevant technical or engineering degree. Sponsorship is not automatic, so confirming the specific position's eligibility early in the hiring process is important.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Technician jobs at Airgas?
You can search Airgas's careers page directly or use Migrate Mate to find Manufacturing Technician openings at Airgas filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight hands-on experience with gas handling, compressed systems, or chemical production environments, since Airgas prioritizes safety compliance and technical proficiency from day one.
Which visa types does Airgas commonly use for Manufacturing Technician roles?
Airgas has used both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based immigrant visa categories, including EB-2 and EB-3, for manufacturing and technical roles. The H-1B is typically the first step for candidates already in the U.S. on another status, while EB-2 and EB-3 are longer-term pathways requiring PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before an immigrant petition can be filed.
What qualifications does Airgas expect for Manufacturing Technician positions?
Airgas typically looks for candidates with a technical degree or associate's degree in a relevant field such as chemical technology, industrial engineering, or a related discipline, combined with hands-on manufacturing experience. Familiarity with compressed gas systems, industrial safety protocols like OSHA standards, and quality control processes in a chemicals or materials environment gives candidates a strong advantage in the selection process.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline after receiving an offer from Airgas?
Once Airgas extends an offer and confirms sponsorship intent, the next step depends on your target visa. For H-1B, your employer files with USCIS, and cap-subject petitions are tied to the April lottery window with an October 1 start date. For EB-3, the DOL PERM process must complete first, which can take a year or more before an immigrant petition is filed. Build that timeline into your start date negotiations from the outset.
