Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Driver Jobs at Airgas Jobs
Get your CDL credentials verified early
Airgas Driver roles typically require a valid Commercial Driver's License with a Hazardous Materials endorsement. Confirm your foreign license can be converted or that you meet state CDL requirements before applying, so licensing gaps don't stall an offer.
Target Airgas locations in high-demand regions
Airgas operates distribution facilities across industrial corridors in the South, Midwest, and Gulf Coast. Applying to locations near chemical manufacturing hubs increases your chances, since those sites tend to have more consistent Driver headcount needs.
Understand how EB-3 sponsorship fits Driver roles
Driver positions at Airgas typically fall under EB-3 for skilled or unskilled workers in the green card context. This pathway requires PERM labor certification through DOL, which your employer initiates, not you. Knowing this upfront helps you ask the right questions during the offer stage.
Ask about H-1B timing before accepting an offer
H-1B sponsorship for Driver roles is less common but has occurred at Airgas. If this is your visa pathway, confirm whether the role qualifies as a specialty occupation before the offer is finalized, since USCIS applies strict criteria to operational positions.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Driver roles
Airgas posts Driver openings across multiple states, but not all listings flag visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Airgas Driver jobs where sponsorship has been confirmed, so you're applying to the right positions from the start.
Prepare for E-Verify compliance from day one
Airgas participates in E-Verify, so your work authorization documentation needs to be in order before your first day. Make sure your I-94, visa stamp, and any EAD are current and accurately reflect your status to avoid onboarding delays.

Find Driver at Airgas JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Airgas sponsor H-1B visas for Drivers?
Airgas has sponsored H-1B visas for workers in select roles, including some Driver positions. H-1B sponsorship for Driver roles is uncommon because USCIS requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, which is a high bar for driving roles. Your strongest path is to confirm the specific job's classification directly with Airgas's HR or immigration team during the offer process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Driver roles at Airgas?
Driver roles at Airgas are most frequently associated with employment-based Green Card sponsorship through the EB-3 category, which covers skilled and semi-skilled workers. This route involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS can approve the immigrant petition. H-1B sponsorship is possible but less typical for operational roles like driving.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Driver roles at Airgas?
Airgas typically requires a valid CDL with a Hazardous Materials endorsement for Driver positions, given the nature of transporting compressed industrial and medical gases. Prior experience in chemical or gas distribution is a strong advantage. Some roles also require a Tanker endorsement. Meeting these credentials before applying puts you in a much stronger position for both the job offer and any sponsorship conversation.
How do I apply for Driver jobs at Airgas?
You can search for open Driver positions directly on the Airgas careers site or use Migrate Mate to browse verified Airgas Driver listings that are open to visa sponsorship. When applying, make sure your resume reflects CDL class, endorsements, and any relevant hazmat or tanker experience. Airgas participates in E-Verify, so be prepared to confirm your work authorization status during onboarding.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Driver role at Airgas?
If Airgas sponsors you for an EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes six months to over a year before USCIS even begins reviewing the immigrant petition. Priority date backlogs can extend the total timeline further depending on your country of birth. Starting these conversations early in the hiring process gives you a realistic picture of the full timeline.
