Frame your insurance credentials for U.S. standards
If you hold designations like CPCU, CIC, or ARM earned outside the U.S., verify they're recognized by U.S. industry bodies before applying. Alliant Account Executives are expected to hit the ground running with clients, so credential alignment signals readiness.
Target Alliant's specialty practice groups directly
Alliant is organized around industry verticals like healthcare, real estate, and construction. Applying to a practice group that matches your book-of-business background gives your application more traction than a general Account Executive submission.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Account Executive roles
Alliant posts Account Executive openings across multiple regions and practice lines at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these openings so you're applying when positions align with your sponsorship timeline and geographic flexibility.
Clarify your OPT or TN timeline before the final interview
TN visa holders and F-1 OPT workers are common hires at Alliant for this role. Before offer negotiations, confirm your remaining authorized work period with your employer contact so the H-1B cap filing window or TN renewal can be planned without gaps.
Prepare your employer for the LCA filing process
For H-1B sponsorship, Alliant's HR team must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying prevailing wage compliance before USCIS can process your petition. Walking your recruiter through this step early prevents delays caused by internal unfamiliarity.
Document your client revenue contributions concretely
Alliant Account Executives are evaluated on client retention and new business production. When building your resume or responding to interview questions, quantify prior book-of-business ownership or growth. This directly strengthens the specialty occupation justification for your H-1B petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Alliant Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Account Executives?
Yes, Alliant Insurance Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Account Executives. Because the H-1B requires demonstrating that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, your application is stronger when the position involves complex risk analysis, client consulting, or technical insurance program design rather than generalist account servicing.
How do I apply for Account Executive jobs at Alliant Insurance Services?
You can apply directly through Alliant's careers portal, where openings are listed by practice group and region. Migrate Mate also aggregates Alliant's Account Executive postings and filters them by visa sponsorship eligibility, which helps you identify roles where international candidates are actively considered before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types are commonly used for Account Executive roles at Alliant Insurance Services?
H-1B is the primary long-term sponsorship pathway for Account Executives at Alliant. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates transitioning from academic programs in business, finance, or risk management. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Each visa type has different authorization periods and renewal processes, so the right fit depends on your citizenship and career stage.
What qualifications and experience does Alliant Insurance Services expect from Account Executive candidates?
Alliant typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field, combined with prior experience managing commercial insurance accounts. Familiarity with a specific industry vertical (healthcare, construction, technology) is a strong differentiator. An active state insurance producer license is generally required before your start date, not just at offer.
How do I think about timing my H-1B sponsorship when targeting Alliant?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year for an October 1 start date, meaning you'd ideally secure an offer by February to allow time for registration. If you're on OPT with a cap-gap or using TN status as a bridge, your authorized work period can extend beyond October 1 while USCIS processes your petition. Confirm your I-94 expiration date and OPT end date with USCIS records before negotiating your start date with Alliant.
