Translate your insurance credentials for U.S. employers
If you hold designations like ANZIIF, CII, or other non-U.S. certifications, get them evaluated and mapped to U.S. equivalents before applying. Alliant hiring managers expect familiarity with commercial lines and U.S. carrier relationships, so framing your credentials in that context matters.
Target Alliant's specialty and wholesale practice groups
Alliant structures its sales teams around specialty verticals like construction, healthcare, and real estate. Roles in these practices often have more defined client bases and repeatable revenue models, which can make sponsorship conversations easier since the business case for hiring you is clearer.
Clarify OPT or TN authorization before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT or qualify for TN status as a Canadian or Mexican national, bring that up early. Alliant has sponsored TN visas for this function, and starting employment under TN authorization removes the H-1B lottery risk from the initial hiring decision.
Understand the H-1B timeline relative to your start date
H-1B cap-subject petitions have an October 1 start date after a March lottery. If you're interviewing in the fall or winter, confirm with Alliant's HR team whether they'll file in the next registration window and plan your current status accordingly to avoid gaps.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Sales Account Executive roles at Alliant
Search Migrate Mate's job board to filter Alliant Insurance Services postings by visa sponsorship type. This lets you see which specific practice areas or office locations are actively hiring for this role, so you can target your outreach rather than applying broadly.
Prepare a client acquisition narrative specific to insurance
Alliant's sales hiring process typically emphasizes your ability to build a book of business. Come to interviews with a concrete account strategy relevant to one of their industry verticals, referencing how you'd leverage existing relationships or prospect within a defined territory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Alliant Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Account Executives?
Yes, Alliant Insurance Services has sponsored H-1B visas for Sales Account Executive roles. H-1B sponsorship for sales positions in insurance typically requires that the role meets USCIS specialty occupation standards, which generally means a bachelor's degree in a directly related field is a baseline requirement. Confirming the specific role's degree requirements with Alliant's HR team before applying is a practical first step.
How do I apply for Sales Account Executive jobs at Alliant Insurance Services?
You can apply through Alliant's careers page directly or browse their open Sales Account Executive postings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight commercial insurance experience, specific industry verticals relevant to Alliant's practice groups, and any existing broker or carrier relationships that would support a new book of business.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Account Executive roles at Alliant Insurance Services?
Alliant has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for roles in this function. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering a sales track, while TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or accounting-adjacent roles. H-1B remains the most common long-term work authorization pathway for international candidates in specialty insurance sales.
What qualifications and experience does Alliant Insurance Services expect for Sales Account Executive roles?
Alliant typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree, a state insurance producer license or the ability to obtain one, and prior experience in commercial lines sales, account management, or brokerage. Roles in specialty verticals like construction or healthcare often require demonstrated familiarity with that industry's risk profile and purchasing patterns, not just general sales experience.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship to work at Alliant Insurance Services?
If you're relying on H-1B sponsorship, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start date. That means you'll need an offer in place before March to file in the same cycle. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window plus any STEM extension gives you more flexibility to start immediately while H-1B sponsorship is arranged for a future fiscal year.
