Frame your credentials for specialty occupation review
Development Manager roles at Alliant fall under specialty occupation requirements for H-1B purposes. Gather documentation showing your degree is directly tied to insurance, finance, or business development, not just a general management background, before you apply.
Target Alliant's regional office locations strategically
Alliant operates through distributed regional offices, and Development Manager openings are often posted at the branch level. Filtering by location helps you find roles with active hiring pipelines rather than holding pages sitting open without urgency.
Raise sponsorship early in the recruiter conversation
Alliant sponsors TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in addition to H-1B, so clarify which pathway applies to you upfront. Recruiters handling volume hiring across regions respond better when you specify your visa category rather than leaving it vague.
Align your OPT start date with Alliant's hiring cycle
If you're on F-1 OPT, the 60-day unemployment clock matters. Alliant's offer-to-start timelines for Development Manager roles can run several weeks, so initiate conversations with enough lead time to avoid gaps before your authorized employment period begins.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Development Manager openings
Insurance-sector Development Manager roles that include visa sponsorship aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Alliant's open roles by sponsorship type and function so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage scrutiny on the LCA
The Labor Condition Application filed with DOL requires Alliant to certify your salary meets prevailing wage for a Development Manager in your specific metropolitan area. Research the DOL wage levels for your target location before negotiating your offer so the LCA filing doesn't stall.

Find Development Manager at Alliant Insurance Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Alliant Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Alliant Insurance Services sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the requirement for a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, finance, or insurance. Sponsorship availability can vary by region and business unit, so confirming directly with the hiring team during the interview process is advisable.
Which visa types does Alliant Insurance Services support for Development Manager roles?
Alliant supports H-1B sponsorship for Development Manager roles and has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and CPT for early-career pipeline hires. Canadian and Mexican nationals may be eligible for TN visa sponsorship, which covers business and finance-related roles. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree field, and the specific responsibilities outlined in the job description.
What qualifications does Alliant Insurance Services expect for Development Manager candidates?
Alliant typically looks for candidates with a background in insurance, financial services, or business development, along with demonstrated experience managing client relationships or driving revenue growth. A bachelor's degree in a related field is generally expected. For specialty occupation visa purposes, your degree field should align directly with the core functions of the Development Manager role you're targeting.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Alliant Insurance Services?
You can find active Development Manager openings at Alliant through their careers portal or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can confirm sponsorship before applying. When you apply, tailor your resume to emphasize insurance industry experience and any measurable business development results. Mention your visa status early in the screening process to avoid late-stage misalignments with the hiring team.
How do I plan my timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Alliant Insurance Services?
H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap with a lottery that opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're already on F-1 OPT, you may be able to begin work before October through the cap-gap provision while your petition is pending. Starting conversations with Alliant recruiters in the fall or winter gives you enough runway to complete the offer and LCA filing before the USCIS registration window opens.
