Frame your credentials around insurance operations
USI Development Managers typically oversee producer pipelines and client service delivery, not software. Before applying, reframe your resume to highlight revenue growth, team leadership, and client retention outcomes specific to insurance or financial services contexts.
Identify which USI offices are actively hiring
USI operates regional offices across the U.S. with varying hiring activity. Target locations with open Development Manager postings rather than applying broadly. Offices with active growth in commercial lines or employee benefits tend to have the strongest sponsorship appetite for this function.
Confirm your visa category fits before applying
USI sponsors E-3, TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT and CPT for this role. If you're on OPT with fewer than six months remaining, confirm your start date can accommodate the employer's onboarding timeline before the application stage, since USI will need lead time to initiate paperwork.
Ask about the LCA process during offer negotiations
Before countersigning any offer, ask HR whether USI files the Labor Condition Application in-house or through outside counsel. Knowing who owns that DOL filing tells you how quickly your start date can realistically be set after the offer is accepted.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Development Manager openings
Development Manager postings at USI can appear and close quickly across regional offices. Search Migrate Mate to filter for USI Insurance Services roles by visa type and location, so you're applying to postings where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing.
Prepare a portable credentials summary for the interview
USI interviewers for Development Manager roles will probe your ability to manage licensed producers and meet sales targets in a regulated environment. Have a concise one-page summary of your relevant certifications, state-specific insurance experience, and any series or carrier credentials ready to reference.

Find Development Manager at USI Insurance Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does USI Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
USI Insurance Services does not appear in public DOL disclosure data as a consistent H-1B sponsor for Development Manager roles. The visa types they have sponsored for this function include E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is essential for your situation, raise it directly with USI's HR team early in the process to get a clear answer before investing significant time in the application.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at USI Insurance Services?
Applications go through USI's careers portal on their website, where you can filter by role and location. Before applying, confirm the posting is still active and that the office location aligns with your ability to work in-person if required. Migrate Mate aggregates USI Development Manager openings filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you identify the right posting faster without manually checking each regional listing.
Which visa types does USI Insurance Services commonly sponsor for Development Manager roles?
USI has sponsored E-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for Development Manager positions. E-3 is available to Australian citizens and requires a Labor Condition Application filed with the DOL. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under the USMCA. F-1 OPT and CPT are employer-facilitated but driven by your university's authorization, so your Designated School Official needs to be looped in early.
What qualifications and experience does USI Insurance Services expect for Development Manager roles?
USI typically looks for candidates with a background in insurance brokerage, risk management, or financial services sales leadership. Relevant experience managing licensed producers, hitting revenue targets, and developing client service teams carries significant weight. Depending on the office and specialty, USI may also expect familiarity with commercial lines, employee benefits, or specific carrier relationships. Insurance-specific certifications strengthen your profile, though requirements vary by region and practice group.
How do I estimate the timeline from application to visa sponsorship at USI Insurance Services?
The timeline depends heavily on which visa category applies to your situation. E-3 and TN processing at a U.S. consulate can move in two to four weeks once the LCA is certified by the DOL, which itself typically takes seven business days. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS can take up to 90 days, so starting that process with your Designated School Official well before your current work authorization expires is critical to avoiding a gap.
