Frame your credentials around insurance operations
Alliant hires Business Managers to oversee client accounts and internal workflows within specific insurance verticals. Tailor your resume to show experience managing P&L, vendor relationships, or brokerage operations, not just general management competencies.
Target Alliant's regional office hiring patterns
Alliant staffs Business Managers across specialty divisions like employee benefits, property and casualty, and financial services. Search by division and geography, since sponsorship decisions are often made at the regional or practice-group level, not centrally.
Clarify your visa type early in conversations
Alliant sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT. If you are on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and remaining authorized period before your first recruiter call, since Business Manager roles may require degree alignment in a related field.
Ask specifically about the LCA and filing timeline
Once you receive an offer, confirm with Alliant's HR team when they plan to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL. LCA certification typically takes seven business days and must precede any H-1B or TN petition, so early clarity prevents offer-to-start delays.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Business Manager roles
Alliant posts Business Manager openings across multiple divisions simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles by visa sponsorship type so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed, not guessing from generic job board listings.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification for H-1B filing
Business Manager can face USCIS scrutiny as a specialty occupation. Work with Alliant's immigration counsel to document how the role requires a specific bachelor's degree, such as business administration, finance, or risk management, rather than any general degree field.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Alliant Insurance Services sponsor H-1B visas for Business Managers?
Yes, Alliant Insurance Services sponsors H-1B visas for Business Manager roles. Because USCIS evaluates Business Manager positions as specialty occupations on a case-by-case basis, Alliant's immigration counsel typically builds the petition around the specific degree requirement for the role, such as finance, risk management, or business administration, to strengthen approvability.
Which visa types does Alliant Insurance Services commonly use for Business Manager roles?
Alliant sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Business Manager positions. H-1B is the most common path for long-term sponsorship. TN visa applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for recent graduates still within their authorized work period.
What qualifications are expected for Business Manager roles at Alliant Insurance Services?
Alliant typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, paired with experience managing client relationships or operational functions in financial services or insurance. Familiarity with brokerage workflows, account management, or insurance product lines strengthens your candidacy considerably for most Business Manager openings.
How do I apply for Business Manager jobs at Alliant Insurance Services?
You can find and apply for Business Manager openings at Alliant through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you see only positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Alliant posts across multiple divisions, so searching by practice area, such as employee benefits or property and casualty, helps you find the most relevant openings faster.
How do I plan the timeline between a job offer and my start date at Alliant?
After accepting an offer, Alliant's HR team initiates the Labor Condition Application with DOL, which takes about seven business days. For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing runs two to four months, and premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. Build at least 30 to 60 days into your expected start date to accommodate these steps.
