Align your credentials to U.S. accounting standards
AMETEK's finance teams work within U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting frameworks. If your background is in IFRS or a non-U.S. system, document your equivalent experience explicitly on your resume and be ready to speak to it in interviews.
Target AMETEK's divisional finance postings directly
AMETEK operates dozens of business units across electronics and hardware. Accountant openings are often posted at the division level, not just corporate. Search by business unit name alongside the parent company to find roles that don't surface under a single careers page search.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before the offer stage
AMETEK sponsors H-1B and other work visas, but individual hiring managers may not know the process. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role is approved for sponsorship before investing time in later interview rounds.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Accountant roles by sponsorship
AMETEK regularly posts accounting positions, but not all are approved for visa support. Use Migrate Mate to filter AMETEK's open Accountant roles specifically by the visa types you need, so you apply only where sponsorship is confirmed.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage scrutiny in accounting titles
AMETEK's LCA filings with the DOL must certify that your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your specific accounting title and work location. Roles titled Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Cost Accountant each carry different wage levels, so the title in your offer letter matters.

Find Accountant at AMETEK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does AMETEK sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. Sponsorship is handled at the divisional or corporate level depending on where the role sits within the organization. Because AMETEK operates across many business units in electronics and hardware, it's worth confirming with your recruiter that the specific posting you're applying to is approved for H-1B sponsorship before advancing in the process.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at AMETEK?
Applications go through AMETEK's careers portal, but roles are often listed under individual business unit names rather than the AMETEK parent brand. Migrate Mate aggregates AMETEK's open Accountant positions in one place and filters by visa type, so you can identify which postings align with your sponsorship needs before applying directly through the official channel.
Which visa types does AMETEK commonly use for Accountant roles?
AMETEK sponsors H-1B visas as the primary long-term work authorization for Accountants. The company also supports F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying accounting roles, and J-1 for certain exchange program participants. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does AMETEK expect for Accountant positions?
Most Accountant roles at AMETEK require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. CPA licensure or active candidacy strengthens an application significantly, particularly for senior or corporate-level positions. AMETEK's electronics and hardware manufacturing context means experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, or standard costing in a product-based environment is frequently preferred over general industry backgrounds.
How do I think about timing when pursuing sponsorship at AMETEK?
If you need an H-1B, USCIS filing opens in March for an October 1 start, so your offer and employer paperwork need to be in place well before that window. For F-1 OPT holders, track your OPT end date carefully against that timeline. TN and J-1 visas move faster and aren't tied to the annual cap, giving more scheduling flexibility if you qualify.
