Frame your credentials around GMP compliance
Amgen's Operations roles sit inside regulated biologics manufacturing, so hiring managers screen for GMP-aligned experience. Document any cGMP training, batch record work, or quality system exposure explicitly in your resume before you apply.
Target roles tied to Amgen's manufacturing sites
Amgen's largest Operations hiring concentrates at specific biologics campuses, not corporate offices. Filter your search by site location, because sponsorship decisions often sit with site leadership rather than a central HR team.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Operations roles at Amgen
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, so you can find Amgen Operations postings that explicitly support H-1B, E-3, or TN candidates without manually screening each listing.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
Amgen sponsors multiple visa types across Operations, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. Confirming which category applies to you during the interview process prevents delays after an offer is extended, since each visa requires different employer filings with USCIS or DOL.
Account for PERM timelines if you need a Green Card
Operations roles at Amgen can lead to EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, but PERM labor certification through DOL typically adds 12 to 24 months before the immigrant petition stage. Factor that into your career planning alongside your nonimmigrant visa expiration dates.
Align your degree field to the specific Operations role
Specialty occupation requirements under H-1B mean your degree must relate directly to the posted position. A chemical engineering or biochemistry background maps cleanly to Amgen's process and manufacturing Operations titles, while a general business degree may require additional documentation to establish eligibility.

Find Operations at Amgen JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Amgen sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Amgen sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. The company operates as a registered H-1B employer and has a consistent history of filing petitions for roles in manufacturing, quality, and supply chain. Your specific role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria, which means a direct connection between the job's requirements and your degree field.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Amgen?
Applications go through Amgen's careers portal, where Operations roles are listed by site and function. You can also browse visa-sponsorship-confirmed Operations postings on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for employers with active sponsorship programs. Tailor your application to highlight GMP experience, regulatory knowledge, and any relevant biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing background before submitting.
Which visa types does Amgen commonly use for Operations roles?
Amgen sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and J-1 visas for Operations professionals, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. For longer-term pathways, the company also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree level, and the specific role's requirements as assessed by USCIS or the relevant consulate.
What qualifications does Amgen typically expect for Operations roles?
Amgen's Operations positions generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline, such as chemical engineering, biochemistry, or biotechnology. Hands-on experience in cGMP manufacturing environments, familiarity with batch record systems, and exposure to regulatory frameworks like FDA or EMA standards strengthen your profile considerably for both hiring and visa eligibility purposes.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Amgen Operations offer?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs several months, while premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. E-3 and TN visas move faster, often completable at a consulate within a few weeks of receiving employer documents. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship adds significantly more time and should be discussed with Amgen's immigration team early in your tenure.
