About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the role
We are seeking a Director, Revenue Accounting Operations - Program Management to build and lead a team focused on modernizing how Revenue Accounting operates at Anthropic. You'll own three interrelated mandates: scaling AI-driven workflows across the order-to-cash lifecycle, running the transformation PMO for Revenue Accounting, and leading NPI program management for product launches for Revenue Accounting. You'll sequence priorities across the Revenue Accounting org, serve as its external face in cross-functional forums, and drive programs from intake through delivery with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders including Finance System, Internal Audit, GTM Systems, Billing Engineering, Product Operations and GTM.
This is a critical leadership role that will directly shape how Revenue Accounting scales alongside Anthropic's rapid growth.
Responsibilities
-
Claudification Strategy and Execution: Define and drive the roadmap for applying Claude and AI-native workflows across Revenue Accounting and Order to Cash — identifying highest-leverage opportunities, partnering with FinSys on prototypes, and scaling what works into durable operational change. Enable the team to adopt and extend these workflows.
-
Transformation PMO: Own the end-to-end portfolio of Revenue Accounting and Order to Cash transformation initiatives — intake, prioritization, resource allocation, project management, status reporting, and risk management.
-
NPI Program Leadership: Lead a team of NPI Program Managers responsible for the financial coordination of every product launch — ensuring Revenue Accounting is engaged early with Product Ops, revenue recognition treatment and order management operationalization are locked before launch, UAT and system configuration are complete, and post-launch monitoring catches issues fast. Establish the intake, readiness, and escalation frameworks that make NPI predictable at scale.
-
Internal Alignment: Serve as the forum where Revenue Accounting priorities get sequenced and trade-offs get made, ensuring the team speaks with one voice on what matters most.
-
External Representation: Represent Revenue Accounting in cross-functional venues — SteerCos, planning cycles, program reviews, launch readiness reviews — and influence partners across cross-functional stakeholders to drive projects to completion.
-
Cross-Functional Partnership: Build tight relationships and operating models with partner teams.
-
Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, executive-ready updates on program health, launch readiness, risks, and trade-offs to finance leadership.
-
Team Building: Hire, develop, and lead a team of transformation leads and program managers; establish the operating rhythms and frameworks that let the team scale.
You may be a good fit if you
-
Have 12+ years of progressive experience spanning revenue accounting, finance transformation, and/or program leadership in high-growth technology environments.
-
Have led large, multi-quarter cross-functional transformation programs with stakeholders across finance, engineering, and GTM.
-
Have deep working knowledge of ASC 606 and the quote-to-cash lifecycle, with the credibility to engage substantively on technical revenue topics even if not personally drafting memos.
-
Have experience leading or closely supporting NPI / product launch accounting, with a point of view on what "launch readiness" means from a Revenue Accounting lens.
-
Are a strong operator — comfortable designing governance frameworks, running program intake, and establishing reporting rhythms that create visibility without creating overhead.
-
Have a track record of influencing cross-functional partners without direct authority, and can translate between accounting, engineering, and GTM audiences.
-
Are energized by applying AI to transform how work gets done, and have a point of view on where the highest-leverage opportunities are in finance and accounting.
-
Have built and developed teams, and think carefully about role design, operating rhythms, and career growth.
-
Thrive in ambiguity and have strong judgment on when to standardize versus iterate.
Strong candidates may have
-
Experience preparing a finance organization for public company readiness, including SOX readiness and audit support.
-
Background scaling NPI or product launch accounting at a high-growth software company.
-
Hands-on experience with modern close automation, revenue recognition, order-to-cash, and billing platforms.
-
CPA and/or Big 4 background.
-
Prior experience at a company going through hypergrowth in a fast-paced environment.

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Align your credentials to U.S. standards early
If your accounting degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation through a NACES-approved service before you apply. Anthropic's finance roles often require CPA eligibility, and unverified foreign credentials can stall an H-1B specialty occupation determination at USCIS.
Target Anthropic's finance team directly
Anthropic's accounting hires typically sit within its finance and operations function, not a generalist pool. Search for roles with titles like Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting Manager, or Revenue Accountant, where sponsorship has a clearer precedent than broader business support roles.
Understand which visa fits your nationality
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for accounting roles. If you're Australian, the E-3 skips the lottery entirely. If you're from Singapore or Chile, the H-1B1 is an option. Knowing which category you fall under before your first interview lets you speak fluently about your own timeline.
Prepare for specialty occupation scrutiny in accounting
USCIS increasingly scrutinizes accounting roles under the specialty occupation standard, requiring proof that the position demands a degree in a specific field. Before your offer stage, confirm with Anthropic's HR that the job description clearly ties duties to technical accounting theory, not general business functions.
Use Migrate Mate to find Anthropic accountant openings
Anthropic's visa-sponsored accounting roles don't always surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Accountant positions at Anthropic specifically, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring conversation.
Negotiate your start date around LCA timing
Before Anthropic can file your H-1B petition, the DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application, which typically takes seven business days but can run longer. Build that window into any start date discussion so your offer letter reflects a realistic timeline without pressure on either side.

Find Accountant at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Accountants?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Accountant roles. The company has an established pattern of visa sponsorship within its finance and operations function. Because accounting must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, the job description needs to clearly require a specific bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, not just any business degree.
Which visa types does Anthropic use for Accountant positions?
Anthropic sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for accounting roles. The H-1B applies to most nationalities and goes through the annual lottery. The H-1B1 is available to nationals of Singapore and Chile without a lottery. The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and also bypasses the H-1B lottery, making it a faster path for eligible candidates.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Accountant roles?
Anthropic's accounting roles typically require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. CPA licensure or active CPA candidacy is often expected for senior positions. Given Anthropic's scale and the complexity of its revenue recognition and equity accounting, experience with technical accounting standards under U.S. GAAP and familiarity with high-growth technology company financials is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I apply for Accountant jobs at Anthropic?
You can find Anthropic's open Accountant roles through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions where visa sponsorship is part of the hiring process. Apply directly through Anthropic's careers portal with a resume that connects your accounting experience to the specific technical duties in the job description. Tailor your application to reflect U.S. GAAP experience and any relevant CPA credentials.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline once I have an offer from Anthropic?
Once Anthropic extends an offer, the H-1B process starts with a DOL Labor Condition Application, which typically takes around seven business days to certify. If your petition is cap-subject, it must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early, as it may bridge the gap between your offer and your H-1B activation date.
