Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About The Role
As a Product Manager for API Growth, you’ll drive growth for the Claude Platform (platform.claude.com) – the surface where developers and businesses build directly on Claude. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, marketers, and data scientists to develop and execute strategies that accelerate our growth while maintaining our commitment to safety and beneficial AI.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a product strategy focused on driving Claude Platform growth metrics such as acquisition, activation, monetization
- Lead the ideation, development, and launch of growth features across our API product – onboarding, console, docs, billing, and self-serve upgrade paths
- Analyze product metrics and user feedback to identify opportunities and optimize performance
- Collaborate with engineering, design, developer relations, and marketing teams to deliver high-impact growth initiatives
- Conduct user research to understand customer needs and pain points
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for API growth
- Balance rapid iteration with our commitment to AI safety and ethics
Qualifications
- 6+ years of product management experience, majority in growth focused roles
- Experience driving growth for API, developer platform, or technical / usage-based products
- Strong analytical skills, and experience with A/B testing and funnel optimization
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Passion for AI technology and its potential impact on society
- Technical background or ability to work effectively with engineering teams
- Founder experience is a plus
The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.
Annual Salary
$305,000—$385,000 USD
Logistics
Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.
Your safety matters to us.

How We're Different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
Come work with us!
Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.

Frame your PM experience around AI systems
Anthropic's PM roles require direct engagement with research and model development cycles, not just standard roadmap work. Document experience managing technical products with measurable safety or performance outcomes before you apply.
Target roles labeled Research or Safety PM
Anthropic's most active PM hiring sits at the intersection of model capability and product deployment. Roles tagged with research, safety, or infrastructure signal teams most likely to initiate sponsorship for specialist candidates.
Build credentials that satisfy specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B positions to qualify as specialty occupations. For PM roles, a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field strengthens your petition over a generalist business background.
Align your offer timing with H-1B cap deadlines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, registration opens in March for an October 1 start. Negotiate your offer acceptance timeline with Anthropic's recruiting team so your start date doesn't fall before your status becomes active.
Search Anthropic PM openings on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Product Manager roles by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify Anthropic openings where H-1B, E-3, or H-1B1 sponsorship is confirmed rather than assumed from a generic job description.

Find Product Manager at Anthropic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Anthropic sponsor H-1B visas for Product Managers?
Yes, Anthropic sponsors H-1B visas for Product Manager roles. The company also sponsors H-1B1 visas for Singaporean nationals and E-3 visas for Australian citizens, which bypass the H-1B lottery. If you're cap-subject, your employer files your petition in March through USCIS registration, with employment beginning October 1 at the earliest.
How do I apply for Product Manager jobs at Anthropic?
Applications go through Anthropic's careers page. PM roles are competitive and typically require a technical background, often with direct experience in AI or machine learning product development. Tailoring your application to the specific team, whether safety, research infrastructure, or consumer product, meaningfully improves your chances. You can also browse current openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate before applying directly.
Which visa types does Anthropic commonly use for Product Managers?
Anthropic uses H-1B for most international Product Managers, along with E-3 for Australians and H-1B1 for candidates from Singapore. The E-3 and H-1B1 options are cap-exempt and can be filed at any point in the year, making them faster and more predictable than H-1B for eligible candidates. All three require a qualifying specialty occupation and an employer-filed Labor Condition Application through DOL.
What qualifications does Anthropic expect for Product Manager roles?
Anthropic's PM positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. Beyond credentials, the company prioritizes candidates with hands-on experience shipping technical products, familiarity with AI systems or large language model workflows, and the ability to communicate across research and engineering teams. Domain expertise in AI safety or model evaluation is a differentiator for senior roles.
How do I plan my timeline for a Product Manager role at Anthropic that requires H-1B sponsorship?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, work backwards from October 1, the earliest employment start date. USCIS opens H-1B registration in March, and selection results arrive by April. That means your offer should ideally be in place before the March registration window. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce petition adjudication to around 15 business days once you're selected, which helps compress the gap between selection and your start date.
